January transfer window...

Re: January transfer window...
And it looks like this target might get away.....
Rodrigo's father and agent has admitted the Bolton loan star is set to return to Benfica in the summer.
The 19-year-old Brazilian-born Spanish youth international was bought by Benfica at the start of the season when they paid Real Madrid an undisclosed fee for him.
But without playing a single game, he was loaned to Bolton for the season and he has featured prominently, playing in ten games so far.
Trotters chief Owen Coyle has admitted he would like to make the deal permanent in order to help the young winger progress.
But Rodrigo's father and agent Adalberto Machado admits his son's future is likely to be at the Estadio da Luz.
"Bolton are very happy with the performances of Rodrigo and they showed interest in having him permanently," he told Renascenca.
"But this is something to be dealt with by both clubs.
"In the last week of January or first week of February I will go to Lisbon for talks with the Benfica president [Luis Felipe Vieira] and we will talk about Rodrigo's future.
"But the idea is that Rodrigo returns to Benfica to develop his career."

Darren Pratley at Swansea we have been linked with a few times this monthSonsOfThunder wrote:I agree with you, but I also have this niggling suspicion that Wheater will be signed any day now. I think more troubling however, is the fact that we haven't been linked with any central midfield players at all, which is where our thin squad is hurting the most.MJH-12 wrote:I think we should all be worried about the fact that it is now January the 19th and we are still to sign one single player. I know we haven't got a lot to spend but you're not telling me Coyle hasn't seen the fatigue that is now setting in with certain players? Also the fact that we've struggled to field a full bench for a good month or 2 now is a very worrying issue. The league is so tight that if this bad run continues, we'll end up in the bottom half permanently.
Less speculation, more photos of players with the shirt please!

Re: January transfer window...
If our Sky cheque lands, they all do. But that won't be a practical consideration - we'd just borrow it off Eddie for a week. The club have refused to bow to Boro's sudden price hike, negotiations take a while, we'll get there. Rodrigo will be more of the same, but longer-term: he may leave and may return, but we won't be held to ransom. Same thing at a lower level, we have been linked with Pratley, but would rather get him for less in the summer. So it doesn't look like Owen's gonna hang his hat on playing with three central midfielders any time soon.

Thanks to Caught offside, we've been given our top ten transfer targets and it's all pretty much guess work but one caught my eye.

Given we've been linked....that Bradley Johnson can't half shoot!
Was better centre mid than I thought he was (think I saw him on the wing last season when I was dragged to Elland Rd for a cup game). Still no massive shakes though, I wouldn't break the bank!

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

But yes, a guy whose talent is only matched by his idiocy. Fergie has tried to have him mentored by one of the senior players, but clearly to nno avail. Their management had a meeting this week to discuss his future at the club, if indeed he has one.
