I'd only ever been a PC gamer (owned a PS2 but rarely played it) until the 360 came and I guess it fell at a time when I was spending my weeks somewhere and my weekends elsewhere and so rather than buy a second PC bought a 360 and then just fell out of the PC stuff. really.

I guess I'm only a "play for 4-5 hours a week" instant FPS kind of gamer rather than someone looking for longer more in depth play. Only out of circumstances though! Otherwise I might get drawn into the MMORPG world!
My main gripe with the FPS stuff, is it hasn't really moved on in terms of gameplay very much (for me anyhow), although the graphics have shifted apace with the technology.

Even in modes where ostensibly there's teams (so the potential for tactics), it's "run around like a meat head and shoot everything", which I'm not knocking for it's theraputic effects, having done just that - like you - since Wolfenstein (the original), but in terms of offering something different - not changed for years (and yes I know you can "steal" cash etc. in Blops).

Now a 54 person raid in EQ - although graphically poo - requires full team co-ordination and mechanics to get a win... :-)

I think there have been changes and evolutions and certainly different styles. Even within Black Ops there are changes in pace and style throughout the game.

Wouldn't disagree, they try to tell more of a story etc. They're certainly better than they were, but only marginally so IMO. :-)

Apparantly all complaints are investigated with the highest amount on a single player being higher on the list. I cant see it myself because there must be hundreds of thousands of complaints made everyday.

Had a quick go on crysis 2 last night. I'm not really a multiplayer person, not really good enough to be, but it was quite fun really.

Graphically its not as good as I expected but perhaps thats because it was the mp and the sp may look better?

But the gameplay was decent. I think the ability to enable temporary armour and cloak are interesting and gave me as a relative mp idiot some sort of chance if I managed to use them at the right tactical times.

Guess it will be more about sp than mp anyways!

Crysis 2 on PC looks *INCREDIBLE*

Saw the 360 single player in September and it looked...very dodgy. This demo has really improved on it though.

I'd read in a few places that the Crysis 2 sp looked so good nobody could believe an xbox was running it. Does that mean in fact an xbox was not running it, or have things improved since September?

Its never going to compare to the PC version of course.

What dya think of the demo btw?

I haven't had time to play the demo yet sadly! Been busy with other stuff...and with the announcement of the PSP2 I can't see that changing lol!

The early code I saw in September was running on a 360 and to be honest, it looked pretty dreadful, like any generic FPS out there. As I say, it was pretty early code still.

If they hadn't improved on that since then, I'd be astonished. From what I have heard, the 360 version looks pretty damn fine now.

Apologies for the self promotion, but lots of info and pics there too. Don't understand the "meh" at all! It looks incredible, the games look stunning!

About time this thread was changed to "The Official Gaming Thread", no?

Finally finished Alan Wake. Only had a couple of goes at it until last week. Then chugged through it.

Excellent game, looking for the DLC's now. :-)

It's something that people buy when they want to play games and don't know how to get their PC to work properly.
