Looks fantastic!
Got NFS Hot Pursuit 2 the other day. Enjoying it so far, despite being infuriating at times.

Re: The Official Xbox 360 Thread
Just picked up NBA Jam and Red Dead Redemption with a bit of trading. I shall report back
Finished Fable 3 and was ultimately very disappointed with it. Dunno if I just let the side-quests slide, and the property side of it but the second one seemed to say to you all the time "you need to do this, but feel free to do other stuff in the meantime" whereas 3 just dragged you from plot point to plot point and felt very linear in comparison.

Read Dead is the best game around at the moment. Still.
Finally finished Dead Space 1.

Bulletstorm - Great fun, ultimately a bit flawed, it could have been unbelieveable but certain things let it down (like the fact that you literally have no freedom of movement at all, you are constrained by an absolute liner path so). Worth a buy though for something different but only if you're feeling flush.
Now has anyone (Choppers I'm looking at you) got any info on whether Homefront and or Crysis 2 are going to be worth it or not? Its annoying their Releases are so close. I'm tempted by both, but as a mainly SP Crysis 2 sounds exciting. However, homefront may be worth it aswell given the MP. There is talk of a "proper" crysis 2 multiplayer demo out tomorrow? Any truth? That would help me judge.

They're all just things to tinker with until Elder Scrolls comes around on 11.11.11

Re: The Official Xbox 360 Thread
I'm actually reviewing Homefront soon, and currently reading the tie-in novel as some research. It looks very good (though very graphic and possibly unsettling). The multiplayer is just "okay", but not played that in ages. Not seen enough of the single player (yet) to pass judgement.BWFC_Insane wrote:Now has anyone (Choppers I'm looking at you) got any info on whether Homefront and or Crysis 2 are going to be worth it or not? The Crysis 2 multiplayer demo thing is true, yeah, only on 360 and PC at the mo, PS3 version coming soon. But yeah, Crysis 2 looks *immense*.
Off to see the new Red Faction game on monday, exciting times indeed!

Played the Crysis 2 demo last night, I'd played the beta before and it was ok but it had a few issues.Choppers wrote:I'm actually reviewing Homefront soon, and currently reading the tie-in novel as some research. The demo is much better. Matches are found quicker, some of the problems with the matches are fixed as well. Melee is less powerful, people die quicker when you shoot them.
Its brilliant. I love it. Nothing new but its in between COD and Halo, worst bits of each game are missing so its good fun. Be interesting to see how it develops over time once the game is out, will it have an MP community?
Anyways looking forwards to the game being released!

Re: The Official Xbox 360 Thread
For those who play online FPS games...what is your playstyle?
I'm not really much of an online gamer as whenever I venture onto XBox live I usually find all my inadequacies in terms of reaction speed and hand eye coordination brought to the for. I've dabbled with COD and Halo and recently have been playing the Crysis 2 demo.
Reason I asked is playing online the other day there were a load of folk on crysis 2 moaning about the fact that sprint drains suit energy and they can therefore only sprint for a limited amount of time and that it meant they couldn't "rush".
Which to my mind is a good thing. I think anything that forces folk to play more tactically, use stealth and careful planning for kills is good. Partly because it gives me a chance but also because it makes for a more interesting game than someone sprinting around trying for knife kills ala COD.
So what does everyone else do? I suppose if you have the range from camper to rusher, I'm more towards the camping end but not static in one place but I try and move around the action carefully picking off kills as I go. If I ran straight into the middle of things I'd be murdered by a bunch of lightning fast teenagers no doubt.

My style tends to change from game to game and from map to map. For example when i play COD if its a small map and i know it inside out i will tend to use fast firing mobile weapons like the ak74u or something similar and "rush" from the start to catch people off guard early on and always keep moving because it takes no time at all to get flanked. Once a game has got into the swing of things then you tend to get a lot of people "camping" in corners etc.. so i change my play style a little and play from cover to cover while still pushing the enemy pretty heavy. I cant do the sitting game and wait for players to come to me, it bores me to tears and doesn't tend to help the team because as soon as you and other "campers" on your team are killed you are instantly pushed back and start to get spawn killed.
I also like to use explosives alot, especially claymores to stop people flanking me. If the explosive doesn't kill them at the very least it gives you a heads up that someone is behind you.
When it comes to large maps i play it cool with long range weapons.. not really into snipers etc so will go with long range assault rifles like the galil or ak47 equipped with a decent scope and silencer to keep away unwanted attention when going for a kill. I also like to go to popular sniper spots and leave explosives lying around and more often than not once you get up there to plant explosives you find some idiot lay on the floor with sniper in hand looking down his scope. Knife in the head to you sir.
Load-outs are important aswell .. if your planning to rush its a good idea to keep lightweight and have some sort of ghost equipped to keep you off the radar from air strikes etc..
Re: The Official Xbox 360 Thread
I'm the same with COD, smaller maps I'll get the PM63 with marathon and burst first, so you can literally run and people and burst a load of bullets in their face.
On larger maps I will use L96A1 sniper and take my time a little bit.

I'm gutted, the bastarding thing is no longer within warranty (hasn't been for a couple of years in fairness!)
Anybody else had this?
