No, the XBOX broadcast's wirelessly from within the base unit...unless I've missed something. It just registers the wireless headset like it would a controller...BWFC_Insane wrote:You'd still need something to plug the transmitter into surely?Worthy4England wrote:Just get a wireless headset for 25 nicker...

Not sure that would solve this particular issue.

Re: The Official Xbox 360 Thread
Yeah it does for the XBOX wireless headset which is basically a microhphone and small ear piece to let you speak in games but thats not the same as a proper set of headphones with mic like the turtle beaches for example, or at least thats my understanding.Worthy4England wrote:No, the XBOX broadcast's wirelessly from within the base unit...unless I've missed something. For those as far as I know you still need a wireless transmitter plugged through RCA or stereo, at least from what I've read!

No, it's not the same as a proper set of headphones...I was just offering up a possible alternative...BWFC_Insane wrote:Yeah it does for the XBOX wireless headset which is basically a microhphone and small ear piece to let you speak in games but thats not the same as a proper set of headphones with mic like the turtle beaches for example, or at least thats my understanding.Worthy4England wrote:No, the XBOX broadcast's wirelessly from within the base unit...unless I've missed something. HDMI socket is in a recess below the compositeBWFC_Insane wrote:Well it does on mine and its how I got the turtle beach's working.CAPSLOCK wrote:S'pose they could be inputs...it's not clear on the back of the TV
I'd check the manual but I'm a bloke
Anyway, does the adapter fit in the slot when HDMI is in as well?
Lad says he'll trade HDMI for composite if it means his headset works
A well spent 35 quid
I think A1 is right in that some of the old models had AV sockets that blocked the HDMI socket. But in mine the AV socket, (a wide slim socket) sits directly above the HDMI one and both fit in at the same time. You might want to check where your socket is located. Think its more than likely it'll be ok with this adapter as that is what sorted my problem out. But check the sockets first!
The composite has such a big lump of plastic behind he connector, they won't fit at the same time
Anyway, he says composite is fine, for now
And as a1 says, the composite video is connected as normal, with 2 of the spare 3 leads used to connect the red n white
Very strange
Odd thing is that his mate set his own up, so I'll have to see if his has xbox a different configuration on the back of the xbox
He loves the headset, btw
Thanks, everybody....for now

I'm guessing anything that would do that wirelessly would be a chunk more than 35 quid

Aye, think it only handles the chat bits - rather than the game sound output...never actually tried ours.CAPSLOCK wrote:He can listen to his mates and the games through this deviceWorthy4England wrote:No, the XBOX broadcast's wirelessly from within the base unit...unless I've missed something. Xbox 360 250GB version - £150 at Tesco Direct
When used with the code TDX-KMAW (£10 off when you spend over £50 on there)
http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.209-4454.aspx
My 360 got the RROD the other day and was out of warranty, couldn't be arsed with all the messing of having to send it off to get repaired only for it to die again in no time, so I've treated myself to new one.

Anyone have Red Dead Redemption and fancies going online? I'm pretty bored tonight.

Definitely has split folk down the middle.Choppers wrote:Really not feeling it myself, lacks soul and character so far.BWFC_Insane wrote:Crysis 2

For me its the best console game of this generation. It has a few bugs and whatnot but most games do nowadays. The multiplayer is the most fun I've ever had on mp and I'm more an sp person. Which is beautiful looking and massive fun to play.
I think the variety of gameplay is what leaves some people, possibly you included cold. You can play it sneakily, cloaked and sneak around, or go full armor and play as a run and gun. And plenty in between. The game doesn't have the atomosphere of a "sneak and shoot" nor does it of a "run and gun" exactly. So I suppose some might prefer specialists in either of those genres.
I just love the variety of tactics and complexity to it, makes COD and the like seem very boring IMO.
All about opinions of course!

NBA Jam's pants. Not moved on from the Mega Drive days.keveh wrote:Hrg, what's NBA like, just seen you playing and I always used to love basketball games
I was getting really into NBA 2K11. It's really hard and the career mode was really tricky to get into. Which made it proper rewarding when I did start to get the hang of it.
But the bloody disc has become unreadable (overplay? Possibly) and I've had it cleaned and it still won't bloody work. Gutted.
Re: The Official Xbox 360 Thread
Might go and trade a shed loads of games in and get it.
I've still got games that haven't come out their wrappers.

Re: The Official Xbox 360 Thread
Yeah I'm ebaying this month. Got back into Assassins Creed Brotherhood.
Overall I really like the Assassins Creed series, but there's a number of levels now that have a really challenging "platform game" element, which I don't prefer as much as I do the missions and other bits you can do and do.

I will list them when I get back home, but I doubt they would even be worth listing.
I think Game offered me £7 for three of them at one point.
I do know, off the top of my head:
Ghostbusters (unopened)
Blur (unopened)
Mirrors Edge (unopened)
Assassins Creed (unopened)
CoD Modern Warfare 2
Gears 1 & 2
