The post woman I had apologised for being 20 mins late and blamed it on stopping every 10 mins to deliver them to people.Riviman wrote:Got mine at 1.00pm, postman said he had hundreds in the van to deliver and that he'd been delivering since first thing.

Re: anyone get their tickets today
Is this the same Post Office that delivered a birthday card eleven days late not long ago?
Blimey, things are looking up.

The difference between a 50p service and a £5.50 service... grounds for privatisation?TANGODANCER wrote:Is this the same Post Office that delivered a birthday card eleven days late not long ago?![]()

Re: anyone get their tickets today
Explain that one for me ,AW, if you will. Are you saying you paid £5.50 extra for a special delivery? See, I ran a mailroom for 17 years and all special deliveries have to be signed for and if no one's at home they get taken away, not put through letter boxes. Even recorded mail has to have a signature unless something's changed drastically in the last couple of years. It's a genuine question as I say, I've been out of that area for a while and would like to know.Armchair Wanderer wrote:The difference between a 50p service and a £5.50 service... grounds for privatisation?TANGODANCER wrote:Is this the same Post Office that delivered a birthday card eleven days late not long ago?![]()

Re: anyone get their tickets today
That's what happened to mine. I've now got to go half way to England (slight exaggeration) to pick it up even though I left a note on my letter box saying I was expecting it and just to shove the envelope through (my reasoning being that even though a special delivery requires a signature, the lack of one certainly hasn't prevented the Royal Mail from delivering such things previously).TANGODANCER wrote:all special deliveries have to be signed for and if no one's at home they get taken away, not put through letter boxes
Ah well, the long walk past the sewage works on a sunny Saturday will do me the power of good.
