Ricardo Gardner
Just a very brief note to recognise that, when brought on as sub at Craven Cottage Rikki G made his 400th Bolton appearance.
Over a 12 year career with us, and now aged 32 this is a significant achievement. Were it not for at least 3 prolonged periods of injury that number would be much more like 500, or more.

Well done RG & many thanks. Proud of you.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

13 years, non?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Re: Ricardo Gardner
And did look ok in the midfield when he came on, admittedly amongst a bad lot. What's everyone's thoughts on him for next year. Will OC want to keep him? Will he want to move? Is he still contracted?
Have to say he is one of my sentimental faves, and I would be sad seeing him elsewhere.

A strong & positive first addition to a thread meant to be recognition of a positive contribution to our club. Bravo LK.Lord Kangana wrote:13 years, non?
If we are to split hairs, then no .... it won't be 13 till July or so.
By the way, you may find this chart useful ;

Least Bobo could've done was to get the picture right.
That's Daniel Sturridge.

Re: Ricardo Gardner
I think he is coming to the end of his career but he might have another season left in him. I also think that he is the type of player Coyle likes. I think he has been injured nearly all of the time Coyle has been here so he won't have seem much of him. I thought Gardner was the only bright spot on our squad against Fulham. Would like to see him get a couple more chances this season, and if he looks good Coyle might just extend his contract.
Re: Ricardo Gardner
Looked as goods ever against fulham, great long servingplayer and would love to seehim given a chance to impress and a new contract if he stays fit. Versatile, and I think coyle's type of player

If he isn't in Coyle's plans he'd have let him go to Preston.

Been with us longer than Jussi?
32 isn't that old really, if he's been laying off the Jamaican patties he could go another 2 or 3 years.

Re: Ricardo Gardner
My sentimental side would like him to stay.
He's that link to the past, the Todd-new-stadium-lots-of-exciting-young-players time. Like Jussi and Davo, he seems to have been only associated with pretty good times for the Whites.
But we really have to be ruthless. If Coyle thinks he's worth an extension and can get back in the first team squad, and contribute, then hand him the contract. If not, then many, many thanks to (for a time) one of the League's best fullbacks. But I'd imagine he's on a decent screw, so we could do with the money elsewhere. Football can be genuinely cruel sometimes.

Keep Gardner even if he can't walk unaided and get shut of Petrov
Then football doesn't need to be cruel
