Request from a disabled Dutch fan

Post by Zulus Thousand of em » Fri May 06, 2011 5:27 pm

OK guys and gals. I've received the following private message from a Dutch guy. Can anyone help? If you want to contact him via PM his user name on this site is Evert1982. I have all his contact details (address, telephone, mobile and email) but I don't want to publish that on the open forum. Please let me know if you decide to help him - and let me know how you get on.

My name is Evert Pater, im from Dronten Holland, and i wondered if you fans could help me out.
My cousin, Tim Grootkarzijn, from Oldebroek Holland is twenty years young, and is the greatest Bolton Wanderers fan from holland. He has a serious disease called attraction of Friedreich.
It's about the same as duchenne, so his muscles will become weaker and weaker.
He is in a wheelcheer right now, and can still travel, but not for a long time the doctors have predicted.
I held a music concert for him last year, and with the money we had collected, is enough to make his greatest wish come true.
It is his longlife dream to visit the Bolton Wanderers.
I have tried to make contact with the club, but i get no response.
Thats why i try it this way, by contacting the fans.
I dont know my way on this forum that well, so i wondered, if you could help me out making a topic about Tim on this forum, so maybe the fans can help us finding a good hotel for disabled people or a nursing home where Tim can spend a weekend to visit the club.
And maybe can help us with tickets or a tour true the stadium.
I will olso come along with him, to help translate for Tim.
My writing is not that good, so my apologies for that, but i can speak and understand the englisch language quite well.
My plan is to come and visit Bolton in September or October.
We would like to come over with his both parents, my girlfriend and i.
We all in Dronten and Oldebroek, family and friends, became also great Bolton Wanderers fans because Tim made us enthusiastic, everybody over here is following your club.
I hope you and the fans can help me out on this so we can make Tim's wish come true.
Hope to hear from you.

Yours faithfully,

Evert Pater

Thanks everyone!
God's country! God's county!
God's town! God's team!!
How can we fail?

Hello,

Can anybody tell me what the costs are for a Bolton match?
Here in Holland we pay 85 euro per ticket for a Bolton Wanderers match.

Am I missing something here? Have the club been asked to get involved in some way to help facilitate this trip? Surely they can find their way in providing free tickets and a stadium tour perhaps? Lets hope the bods at the BN are reading this.

Hello,

It has been a while ago that if bin online.
Tim has chosen a match.
It is against Stoke city at the 6th of november.
We have already found ourself a nice bed and breakfast at one hour drive from Bolton.
I hope that you fans can give Tim a nice welcome..
Tim is very emotional about his dream coming true, ans maybe you Bolton fans can arrange some special treatment, like a stadium tour, or a visit at the training.
Can somebody tell me how to order the tickets, and if i need a special ticket for Tim?
We are coming over with 6 persons, Tim, his both parents, my girlfriend and i, and Tim's grandfather is also coming with us, because here in Holland he takes Tim to every match he wants, so that guy is very special to, and he deserves to see that Tim's dream is coming true.
We will arrive in England at Friday evening, so we also have the Saturday to spent. If someone has a idea to spent it, please tell..
Can i maybe post a picture from Tim on the forum, so everyone knows what Tim is like?
We were also wondering if there is a special pub or place where you fans hangout around the matches, Tim would love to visit that place or places also.
I hope for lots of response and a warm welcome!

Please email me! [email protected]

Have to say that is the one match I am hoping we do win more than any other now this season I think...get some pride back! I assume you know what happened the last time we played Stoke!

As fans we cannot arrange a stadium tour, or training visit, though this the club do Stadium tours. See - http://www.bwfc.co.uk/page/StadiumTours" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.
HOW TO BOOK YOUR TOUR

All stadium tours must be pre booked either at the BWFC Superstore or by ringing +441204 673650
I think if you are familiar with twitter you can contact the fans liaison officer - @tonyzicokelly who would be a good start to make Tims dreams come true in terms of attending training - but im not sure this is a common request, for a fan to go to training.

There are a few pubs near to the ground with fans in - avoid the one called the beehive as that is where away fans go. Sometimes they do a 'fanzone' in the ground itself which is near the club shop, serving beer etc...though I haven't seen them this season?

Caps knows someone who may have a better line to the club than the website, he posted earlier in this thread.

Good luck with it.

It is also Tim's wish to have contact with the true Bolton fans during the day of the match, he wants to experience a real match day, and surely the one against Stoke!
