We're keeping Robbie Blake??? WTF?? The fat useless lump of lard is unfit, overweight and hasn't played a full game all season with only a few run outs as sub. This stinks of the old boys network and someone giving his mate a financial leg up, I can't see any other reason for it. I'm appalled. Theres no room for sentimentality at the club and frankly, I wouldn't be calling for Coyle's head for not having him in the squad even if we ended up playing Knight as centre forward.

Stinks to high heaven.

Apparently Blake was there for his "character" because he is a joker who raises morale.

Might as well sign Peter Kay on.

Maybe we could get Blake to do a basics in technique course with Muamba!

Six months, five nights a week. If Muamba hasn't learnt to trap a ball and pass it by then, ship him out in January.

If he gets past the basics, we can even get him to teach Muamba more complex things, like how to shoot!

Haha so true.
I've no problem signing Blake on tbh. If he's not on astronomical wages (which I presume he's not) adds something to the squad in personality and to be fair his legs are gone but he's a decent squad player for cup games/back up. And with our striker situation, we need all the attackers we can get.
Hopefully this means Gardner stays too...
Was half expecting him to be getting a coaching job this year though, imagine this is the long-term plan.

He'll be on peanuts, plus no doubt helping with the coaching, and his technique is bob on. Also he apparently had an epiphany a few years ago, went from lard arsed yet brilliant footballer to working his arse off model pro who happened to be past it. Wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't around for the benefit of the likes of Eaves and Ward.

Blake has got fantastic technique. He could and should have played at a higher level for longer.

That aside, I hope its because he's getting involved in the coaching. Then I could understand that his personality around the dressing room and his emergency forwardness would be the icing rather than the filling.
