Where would we play Kranjcar? Genuine question because I have no idea where he'd fit in to our system.

He's nowt but a right midfielder for me.. I also don't think he's as good as Lee. But Lee could probably shift over to the Left pretty easily

Why would we displace Lee if he is "better".boltonboris wrote:He's nowt but a right midfielder for me.. I also don't think he's as good as Lee. But Lee could probably shift over to the Left pretty easily
And would Kranjcar work hard enough in our system or become another Petrov!

Both good points.. And 2 reasons why I wouldn't bother with him..
I was purely stating that we could make room if we so wished.

he's a bit of a joker - we'd play him in the dressing room to keep morale up...

Defoe? Pavlyuchenko?? I'd take either of them, they'd be perfect replacements for the outgoing Swede!

Chelsea after a couple of strikers, could Sturridge be heading back to the 'Bok on loan? Or worth a look at Anelka?

It'd be brilliant to see Anelka back, I'm willing to bet he'd still be a class above the rest.TKIZ! wrote:http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/foot ... 88492.html

An intriguingly certain list of Spurs names there - no "could include the likes of". Presumably that list has been handed to the media by the management. Ooh, morale. Kranjcar could play cutting in from the left, but has only ever really excelled in a five-man midfield. Tiara?
Anelka would cost much too much in fee and wage. We're far more likely to get Gael Kakuta (young + tricky + attacking = Coyle) or Jack Cork (defender/midfielder, who first went on loan to Burnley just after Coyle left).

I'm sure we do this every year, but he's been excellent most of the time I've seen him....

My guess is he's not what we're looking for though, more in terms of his age (lack of resale value) and wages than his baggage (of which there is still plenty). Cork is much more likely.

Barton is indeed an excellent player, and would be a very good signing for us. But if Newcastle can't afford his wages, I doubt we can.
Is it not odd that he's "set to leave the club" but "has one year left on his contract"?

Barton would be a massive improvment in midfield as a player. Whilst he's not the sort of character you'd want ideally he is exactly the sort of player we need. A year or two ago I'd have said no way, never ever ever, but I fear that my desire to see us progress is now greater than my worry about the morality of the situation.Tombwfc wrote:I'm sure we do this every year, but he's been excellent most of the time I've seen him....

I'd take him but I guess he'd cost a fair bit overall, probably out of our range.

Joey Barton would be a great signing if we could afford it, and like BWFCI I agree that he's just the type of player that we need in midfield next season.

When he's not banged up of course...............................................
Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
Something rarely, if ever mentioned when he comes up linked to us, and the reason why he has to be an absolute no-go for us. If we signed Joey Barton, where do you think he would live? Undoubtedly back in Liverpool, back with his mates. 3 weeks later he is back in prison. Cracking player, utter cnut.BWFC_Insane wrote:Barton would be a massive improvment in midfield as a player. Oh and Krancjar is gone. Would have been a belting signing 18 months ago, left or right, but he is a right fat bastard these days.

One comment made me laugh on that Barton link .. from his agent..
"He wants to play as well as he can for Newcastle this year, and get the club where they belong which is top five."
Hahahahahaha funny guy. If his job as an agent hits the shit he would be a cracking comedian

I'm sure Corks dad will give the club and (some) fans a glowing reference
