I'm not sure what absolute shit tastes like, never having tried it, but it would probably depend on the flavour of the gum- I agree uncoated ones are nasty, but I don't mint the mint and fruit flavoured ones.

Right pissed off this morning. Last evening my son (37) rang and had a chat with his mum. It seems that he picked up some sort of unspecified infection and popped into the doc for assistance. Blood tests taken and medication prescribed. Further tests are now required. It transpires that during the blood analysis the pathologists found that he has diabetes. I don't know which class at this stage - perhaps the medico doesn't either until the new test results come in. He's not overweight, he's fit and he's a vegetarian which means he's not a 'fast food junky'. He is an asthmatic and has been since he was a wee child - many urgent trips to hospital in the early days (some via ambulance) - but seemingly now well controlled.

I am now hoping like mad that it's a false reading due to the infection. If it isn't then I suppose I should be happy that it's been picked up now as, without the infection, he was feeling perfectly healthy and wouldn't have taken the doc's time.
