I thought the announcement was that things were to be made clearer in a new act of Parliament, not that the announcement itself was to make things clearer. :?

It's difficult not to feel uncomfortable at language condoning 'sticking a knife' in someone though... if the Bill is not that graphic (and it won't be) I agree with Bish that it's not obvious how the current law might be changed to achieve the end being discussed.

I am beginning to suspect Ed Milliband is some kind of genetically-engineered experiment - or some kind of advanced droid...

this interview performance is shameful...

Personally I don't think i would pray to Charlie Brooker - but he is pretty much spot on with his analysis of the depths to which political sound-bite interviewing has sunk...

Post being a massive nice person he was one of the better Tories IMO. Not quite David Davies, the sane half of Ken Clarke etc, but all right.

Isn't that a bit like being a deathbed Catholic?

I was a complete nice person when I had the power to do something.

And when I didn't, I decided to try and pretend I wasn't that big a nice person after all.

Once a nice person always a nice person.

If in your particular anecdotal world God existed and went ape for transubstantiation thang, surely that would be better than someone who never converted? Particularly if his competitors in the 'all right for a catholic' category were masochistic condom worshippers, which is the Tory equivalent :D.

One of the most cringeworthy, embarrassingly repetitive interviews I have ever seen.

How on earth did that lot choose him over his generally very impressive brother? Amazing.
