Only if they're stodgy yank style pizzas. This leads us back to the stonebake debate me and bish had a while ago.....
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

you need to go to Pizza Express and have the Calabrese - you will change your tune! Pizza Express pizzas are the very best, and its often cheaper than eating at home!TANGODANCER wrote:I absolutely can't stand pizza. Re: What are you eating and drinking tonight?
Calabrese is always excluded from all the deals they do though, so isn't that cheap. And Pizza express is all right, but I wouldn't rave about them. Best ones are of course the ones from Naples though. Shit me, I must have put on about a stone and a half in the 10 days we were there, and I am not the sort who easily puts on a stone and a half!

Indeed, a proper Italian pizza freshly cooked in Italy is completely different to anything here.Prufrock wrote:Calabrese is always excluded from all the deals they do though, so isn't that cheap. Well perhaps a decent Italian restaurant over here comes close!
But Pizza Hut and Pizza Express as LK says are just American style stodge. Not nice in my experience. Though Pizza Express is a bit nicer than the Hut!

Up yours!
Had a pizza in a shitbag street restaurant in Rome which was ace
Though the Calzone at Bella Italia (not the chain), Bury, is the best pizza I've ever tasted.

Ive had pizza in Rome, Naples, Turin, Pisa, Catollica, Peurto Fino, plus a couple of Italian ski resorts and little Italy NYC. all tremendous, Sauze d'oulx probably the best out of that lot - but PE Calabrese still my favourite.

Love a Calzone, me.
Don't ever, EVER have the Calzone in Frankie and Benny's.

Re: What are you eating and drinking tonight?
yesterday...
french-style pizza with green salad, glass of ice-cold Stella, Gauffre au sucre and several coffees...
all spread over a good hour and a half in the sun in the Place de la République overlooking the main town square in the picturesque walled town of Bergues.... bliss!
today...
sandwiches and crisps with machine-coffee at an M3 service station!
