Wouldn't that technically have been a decision of the previous administration?

Anyway, as I see it they've just rearranged the deck chairs, cos the M60 bit is still shit.

Osborne's excuses (for the lack of growth)

so far we've had...

snow
too many bank holidays
the japanese tsunami
the royal wedding (though he originally said that would be good for growth)

now it's "other countries" being too cautious.

what next??

that'd be a poor one - cos the economy was growing quite well as the coalition took over...

Vince Cable - saviour of small businesses!!

now they can put chocolate liquers next to lingerie in their shop displays and they can sell christmas crackers to U16s...

also - "trading with the enemy" laws have been scrapped...

Vince tells us this a major blow at the heart of a red-tape culture that will set small businesses free...

the FSB (Federation for Small Businesses) tells us...

"We question how these incremental changes will deliver real change on the ground at a time when the Government is introducing more big ticket regulation, for example around parental leave and flexible working."

and

‘Some of these regulation cuts being announced today will have no tangible impact on small firms at all as they are outdated and unused anyway.’

todays utterly pointless, empty rhetoric....

Dave Cameron..

"If you are old enough to do the crime you are old enough to face the punishment."

fair enough - sound-bite-tastic - but, when push comes to shove, you haven't actually made any changes to the youth justice system OR to sentencing guidelines - or to age-related judicial process..

so - it MEANS absolutely nothing at all.

There were apparently 8 year old kids knocking along at some off them today. Either he is saying 8 year olds are going to prison, or, he is saying absolutely nothing other than, 'the stuff that was the case the other day in regards to youth crime is still the case today, hope that clears it up', whilst trying to sound like he is saying something.

Don't really know whatt he can say tbh. The police have been expecting civil disorder for some months.

And I'm pretty sure what he wasn't going to do was kick off by saying "Well its not going to affect Police cuts one bit, before you ask".

Does there have to be anything wrong with it, for Micheal Gove to come across as a cnut?

like all that wanky guff about tackling house-burglars that some people fell for a while ago - I'd ask him specifically WHAT powers... my guess is that it will amount to nothing more than a soundbite to suit the moment...
