HE SAID IT! HE SAID IT!
Japanese teenager Ryo Miyaichi has been granted a work permit to play for Arsenal next season on the grounds of being an "exceptional talent", the English Premier League has said.

The 18-year-old midfielder joined Arsenal in January and was loaned to Dutch side Feyenoord as he was unable to obtain the necessary paperwork having not represented Japan's senior side.

An FA panel on Tuesday agreed to grant the documentation after hearing from Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and reading a letter of recommendation from the Japan Football Association.

"We are absolutely delighted... This is almost like a new signing for us," Wenger told Arsenal's official website (http://www.arsenal.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;).
"Ryo has worked extremely hard in pre-season and performed very well during the matches in Asia, Germany and Portugal.

So looks like both Cesc and Nasri are off...

From the BBC one month ago.

Wenger added that Arsenal could not afford to lose both Nasri and Fabregas this summer.

"Imagine the worst situation - we lose Fabregas and Nasri," said the Arsenal manager. "You cannot convince people you are ambitious after that. You cannot pretend you are a big club.

"A big club holds onto its big players and gives a message out to all the other big clubs that they just cannot come in and take [players] away from you.

He said that the uber-shit Vermaelen being fit was 'like a new signing' too.

Honestly, what a clown

wenger is still denying that either is going....
speaking ahead of his side's Premier League opener, Wenger remained adamant the wantaway duo would not be leaving.

'I expect nobody to leave the club,' said Wenger.

How bad has it got for Arsene? Joey Barton just got their new signing Gervinho sent off for a straight red. Oh dear.

Five yellows and a red - big fine heading Arsenal's way. At this rate they'll not have the funds to buy a decent goalkeeper again this year.

Song and Barton should have been off as well as Gervinho.

Yep, but Song will get done in retrospect, as no official saw it live.

Gervinho looks a proper Gooner, dived twice. I ALMOST felt sorry for Barton getting a yellow card for grabbing the diving cheat.

Wenger is slowly morphing into a Mr. Bean lookalike, I love it.

when asked about Song stamping on Barton - Wenger seems to acknowledge that Song stamped on Barton - and had a go at Barton for running over to the fourth official... :conf:
