My twopenny'th for what it's worth:
At half time, after reading the thread, I was about to post a message when the family arrived. It read: "Never in the field of human football has so much guff been said to so many by so few"
They know I always watch the game come what may so I took the break and it didn't get posted..
QPR are not rubbish, neither are they a championship side. They're fast, fit, skilful and move the ball about very well. They were playing at home and we kept them contained. Some here still don't understand what KD's job in the side is and too little is being made of Robinson's excellent link play with Petrov. As a matter of fact Robbo had a great game. Second half we opened them up and okay, touch of luck with the second but again Davies was hassling the defenders for the cross. Muamba really got stuck in and his goal was a good effort. Petrov looks re-born and his attempt to lob the net with Kenny somewhere in the town centre was class. Considering we're working with new players it all went really well. Eagles was a star and NRC is a classy player. QPR will trouble a few teams for my money and this was a great start to our season. Four goals and three points away from home and being able to stick it to my United supporting grandson made for a great day.
You may now chew me to bits.

You stick your head up, you have to expect toget shot at.Hoboh wrote:

At half time I was expecting a change as the middle of the field wasn't working out at all. Different team second half though, and nice to see us rattle a few in. Credit where credit's due SKD had a great game for me, some nice traps and turns too, though I wish he'd stuck that header away.
Good work from the new boys and couldn't pick anyone out to criticise too much over the 90.
I will say that QPR (on that showing) are in for a very rough ride but there's better/bigger/richer teams than us that'll go there and not get 3 points nevermind score 4.
They're dirty, they're filthy, they're never gonna last.

Think that's nitpicking. Didn't bloody drop the ball at a players feet and gift them a goal!Hoboh wrote:Slow off the lineBWFC_Insane wrote:Did he really? The one where he came and didn't quite get it first half - right hand edge of his 6 yard box. Was reasonably well positioned for the fairly weak follow up shot though.BWFC_Insane wrote:Did he really? Re: Bolton v QPR
If this is our "away" formation, 4-4-2 with 2 defensive midfielders, then it's looking good to me so far.
Would be interesting to see how we play at home, guessing 4-4-2 with one defensive midfielder. But like DSB says, probably depends on who we're playing.
It really looks like we're starting to get the kind of players OC wants to do what he wants on the pitch... and it looks good from today's showing.
Klasnic and Petrov looked happy and Eagles looks promising.

I suspect two defensive midfielders for our next two home games is a good idea... And winning both 4-0 is an even better one...Armchair Wanderer wrote:If this is our "away" formation, 4-4-2 with 2 defensive midfielders, then it's looking good to me so far.

Just seen it on MOTD. To be expected that QPR would come out all guns blazing, just needed to weather that and all was fine
