Yes, on the comeback trail though. Cannot wait!!Gooner Girl wrote:I'm quite surprised none of the bigger clubs showed any interest in him, tbh. Though he's still injured isn't he?Lord Kangana wrote:Holdens better than them all.
Well maybe not Fabregas. Or Nasri.

I hate to say it, but it smacks of you lot settling for second best. Decent enough players, but they're not of the quality that United, City or Chelsea have made.
And whilst Liverpool have desperately overpaid for their players, Suarez is a top, top, top, top player. Toppingly top. Tip-Top, if you will.
And Holden just made his comeback in the reserves. We could have a decent midfield soon if other teams would stop snapping them all in half.

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Arteta and Benayoun. Not bad although a bit of a let down for team of Arsenal's size especially concidering the promises that Wenger made the past couple days. The biggest concern is that Benayoun has been injured quite bit the past couple seasons if I recall right, and Arteta clearly is injury prone. Hopefully they will be able to stay on the pitch long enough for you GG to be able to contribute this season.

Remember when Arshavin was good for about two weeks in the summer of 2008?
That was great.

I still rate Rosicky in the right company. Certainly wouldn't be averse to him being here.Verbal wrote:Gooner Girl wrote:I'd agree with that, but just who would we have got in that was as good as Nasri or Fabregas? Agree but given what was left on the market its ok. I wouldn't say i'm outrageously happy with our purchases but am not in the depths of despair either...Lord Kangana wrote:I hate to say it, but it smacks of you lot settling for second best. i remember when he scored 4 in one game against Liverpool shortly after he joined.... Clearly the potential is there, along with Rosicky, but neither has had a great game for a very long time...Verbal wrote:Gooner Girl wrote:I'd agree with that, but just who would we have got in that was as good as Nasri or Fabregas? I see what you're saying. You think that Wenger has ruined both players, quashed their potential and that he's a scrotum faced, senile old control freak.Gooner Girl wrote:i remember when he scored 4 in one game against Liverpool shortly after he joined.... Doesn't change the fact that you're still suffering from the same areas of concern as before....

29 years old, injury-wracked and two years off his best form, I'm not surprised.Gooner Girl wrote:Arteta has taken a rather large pay cut to come to us apparently...

Didn't say it did... But we are better off now then we were last Sunday.

29 - Should be in the form of his career. Can't moan about his age given we always moan when wenger normally buys players TO young...Horza wrote:29 years old, injury-wracked and two years off his best form, I'm not surprised.Gooner Girl wrote:Arteta has taken a rather large pay cut to come to us apparently...
Won't deny i am a tad worried about the fact he is injury prone though...

Which means those nutjobs at Everton were paying him £90k per fookin' week!
No wonder they're skint..
Actually, I apologise.. Moyes is the best manager since Sir Alf and he's achived his mediocrity.. I mean incredible achivements on a shoestring.
He didn't.. I stress DIDN'T spend £11 Million on Bilyaletdinov and he DEFINITELY didn't pay him £55k per week
