You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

Westhoughton market - every 1st Saturday in the month. Not many stalls, a dozen or so, but some cracking stuff. Bought a Pork & Cider pie that we had today. Sorry, its just too tempting to rise to it sometimes...Gary the Enfield wrote:Gooner Girl wrote:Yeah and that just about sums you up doesn't it...Lofthouse Lower wrote:I love quiche and I buy my eggs from Joe the Egg Boy who comes round once a week on his cart.
A pound per tray isn't cheap, but they taste alright I suppose. Don't care where they come from or if the hens have had a nice life.
GG you need to learn. This is done for effect. If you respond it just gets worse.
As an analogy, if you scratch a mosquito bite it makes it worse whereas if you leave it alone it still gives you a pain but it recedes after a while. So ignore the prick (the mosquito bite)

Re: What are you eating and drinking tonight?
Tomorrow I am attempting to make a steak and mushroom pie.
I cook quite a bit but have never done anything with a crust on (intentionally that is).
I am making the pastry from ingredients not the pre made stuff.
So any tips/recipes would be gratefully received.

Buy the pre made stuff.
Good luck with that, Chief. Photograpic evidence of the finished article, please.

Not sure how far the pastry mix goes. So if I make a lot then I'll do a whole pie, otherwise just the top.thebish wrote:Wandering Willy wrote:Tomorrow I am attempting to make a steak and mushroom pie.

I'll post photographic evidence if successful.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
No, eggs is not eggs. Battery eggs come from hens kept in cages where they have a space the size of an A4 piece of paper to live on all their lives. They can't flap their wings properly, they will never see the light of day, they can't exhibit their natural tendancies, scratch at grass or feel the sun on their back. They are worked hard til they drop and out of boredom they peck each other til they look something like this.Annoyed Grunt wrote:Eggs is eggs, innit?

Given free range costs not a lot more per half dozen, if you don't buy free range then you are a stingy, cold hearted git! (and i know you're not...)

Off to Horwich Beer Festival, so I shall be drinking whatever random beer takes mg fancy.
Hopefully they'll be doing pasties again because I've not had time for my tea!
