Where are they now? Gerald 'Sycho' Cid.

Where are they now? Gerald 'Sycho' Cid.

Post by hi there, i'm chris » Sat Sep 17, 2011 9:08 pm

Signed for Wigan apparently!
On 16 July 2010, Cid announced his retirement on the OGC Nice website.[1] However, as of 31 August 2011 Cid is said to be on the verge of a comeback. It is believed he is in talks with Wigan Athletic about a move back to the North-West of England and has been quoted by local paper the Wigan Evening Post as stating, "I do not regret my choice. Wigan is an ambitious club. I am proud to have signed over there. Today, I aspire to only one thing: to start my new history of love with the Premiership."
Saw Gerald Cid outside Goodison today. Told me he's not fit yet but could make his Wigan debut next week #GeraldCid #BBCFootball

Weird that he should get a mention. I was only thinking about Cid at the weekend, as in "That Pratley's the worst player I've seen in a white shirt since......"

Wiggin are fckg welcome to him. Honestly.

His debut against Newcastle was one of the most mouth-agape moments of my life. I truly could not believe what I was watching.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Everton was pretty eye-opening, too.

Really don't get the NRC hating! Haven't seen the Norwich game but have been impressed with him in all others.

I think Bolton fans just aren't used to a midfield player who can retain posession.

One of the only players who came out with any credit.

People are probably disappointed, as they thought we'd be getting this all action, super fast, box-to-box, skilled passer. Which he's never been. Ever

You didn't see the Norwich game either then?

I think this season he's done alright.

I saw the Norwich game, and he was the best of a very bad bunch. Again. Will be a top player for us.

Agreed Beefheart. Still hoping Holden comes back the same!
