I'm very grateful to live in a country where the seasons are so well defined. Would hate to live in a place where there wasn't much obvious change all year!
My dog (proper 57) had his anal glands emptied once and yes the smell is something to behold!!

Remind me where you're doing it?Prufrock wrote:Starting the GDL. Finally. Christ they've sent me home with a lot of books!
Hope you have a good year mate and that you don't find the fact that you're actually interested in some of the underlying issues holds you back (because you can be sure it will make you stand out!)

College of Law, Manchester. Cannot wait. There is nothing like a year's work on a factory line for get-your-arse-in-gear motivation!

'Fraid not pal. Am around the the weekend including Saturday 15th, for this, for which I'm very excited. Pretty sure there are still tickets if you fancy the gig, and if not, a drink at some point over that weekend? Same to you Crayons, if you are around? Been a while!

Having issues with work over illegalities following my return from maternity leave but today i was teaching 5 very sweet 6 year olds boys how to swim. Had almost forgotten how much I enjoy working with small kids. Shame stupid adults have to mess things up.

Although it's not my area - Bobo's good on this stuff.

Re: Today I'm happy about......
Bobo has been a fantastic help but the situation is dragging on. Basically I work as head of PE and Games at a small private school. Took a years maternity leave (in which time the school nearly shut due to lack of numbers) and now they have given me less hours then I wanted, instead allocating them to the woman who covered my mat leave (whose good side they want to keep on as she writes for the 'good schools guide') and they have also changed what lessons I am teaching dramatically without any consultation. Have threatened to take them to tribunal under sex discrimination act but really don't want to. Guess it's whether they call my bluff or whether they can offer a reasonable compromise... Some of the parents have complained cos I'm not teaching their kids anymore so hopefully that might help...mummywhycantieatcrayons wrote:What's the problem?Gooner Girl wrote:Having issues with work over illegalities following my return from maternity leave but today i was teaching 5 very sweet 6 year olds boys how to swim. Ok, so you're already getting some decent advice then. It's always a shame when somebody has to threaten legal action in a job they enjoy. I hope they offer you a compromise you can accept soon (and that the dads keep applying the pressure in the meantime!).Gooner Girl wrote: Bobo has been a fantastic help but the situation is dragging on. Yeah, it's the last thing I need really. Just trying to go in at the moment, keep my head down and do my job without talking to management unless I have to! Taking them to tribunal would make things awkward, I don't want to do it but it's the principle of the matter that has wound me up!
Mums can apply pressure too! Not just dads!

Bobo is fantastic, can't speak highly enough of him. He's a complete star! I owe him big time!
