we are housing my missus's cousin at the moment - was a few days - then a few weeks - now a few months!! anyway - weekends he goes home to Devon... yesterday he brought us a huge tub of clotted cream!
any ideas what to do with it (apart from make scones and have a tea... there's enough for that - and then loads more!!)

Cold supper tonight. Corned beef, chopped raw onion, sliced mature Cheddar and some thin tomato slices. Whacked it on two slices of buttered toastie loaf with salt and pepper to taste (mine) and scoffed it with a large mug of sweet tea. Delicious.

A few days turns into a few months ? Any sign of it ending ?thebish wrote:we are housing my missus's cousin at the moment - was a few days - then a few weeks - now a few months!! anyway - weekends he goes home to Devon... yesterday he brought us a huge tub of clotted cream!

If not .... just exactly HOW BIG is this tub? How big is he ? ... Could you fit him into it, by any chance ??
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

You can bring me home made scones with jam and cream on Tuesday Bishy, that would be quite acceptable.thebish wrote:we are housing my missus's cousin at the moment - was a few days - then a few weeks - now a few months!! anyway - weekends he goes home to Devon... yesterday he brought us a huge tub of clotted cream!

You can make some amazing fudge with it. Serve that at your next Women's Institute tea party and before you know it they'll have you stripped off and photographed for Mr September in next years calendar.thebish wrote:we are housing my missus's cousin at the moment - was a few days - then a few weeks - now a few months!! anyway - weekends he goes home to Devon... yesterday he brought us a huge tub of clotted cream!

Or if you're as greedy as my old fella is, you can just have it on literally everything. On a biscuit, in a soup, with black pudding, whatever.

Lamb's on Sheep Street in Stratford on Avon. Very nice food - we were all fish-or-veggie eaters and had a great meal with spicy soup, plaice/goats cheese/sea bass mains, lovely service, just brill house white, perfectly chilled...
