I think I wrote it on here a while ago... maybe I didn't - anyway - I'll write it again...
I got motioned to STOP the other day by a couple of horsey-riders on a country lane (I had already slowed to walking pace, cos I am nice). Because I am nice - I did stop - and as they passed me, the front woman said to me - they're OK with cars going slowly - but they are petrified of motorbikes and anything could happen.
to which I replied...
"sounds dangerous!"
to which she replied..
"yes - it is."
to which I replied...
"maybe you shouldn't take them out on the fecking roads then!"

Horses have almost 360 degree vision. They can recognise a car 'cos they look big and square. They fail to recognise motorbikes and cyclists 'cos they think, what the feck is that kind of horse that bloke's riding? Worries the crap out of them, and they get a bit twtchy until they see that the iron horse hasn't got four legs. (Unless you're on a tandem of course).

Baby's pram shoved over by robbers for bag
Baby's pram shoved over by robbers for bag
Police have issued CCTV of the moment a pram carrying a three-month-old baby was shoved to the ground as robbers stole his grandmother's handbag.
Two women, 33 and 56, were robbed near Bobby Heywood's park in Bolton at about midday on 15 October.
The 56-year-old was struck on the head and fell to the ground, causing the pram to topple over. The child was strapped in and was not injured.
The men fled with her handbag, Greater Manchester Police said.
The younger woman ran after them but collapsed almost immediately through exhaustion from the struggle.
'Desperate individuals'
Police said the grandmother was not seriously injured.
The first robber was white, about 6ft 2in, thin and in his late teens to early 20s. He was wearing a grey hooded top with the hood up and covering his face.
The second man is also described as about 6ft 2in, thin and in his late teens to early 20s. He was wearing a black top with the hood up covering his face.
Det Insp Stuart Wilkinson, of Greater Manchester Police, said: "These were the actions of two desperate individuals who had no regard whatsoever for the wellbeing of these two women or the young baby they were with.
"As you can see from the CCTV, it is lucky that the baby was strapped into the pram and wasn't injured during this robbery."

Where's Bobby Heywood's Park?
And this from Monday, Hoss.
And this from Monday, Hoss.
A woman was bundled to the floor and robbed of her car while she was delivering her shopping to her elderly mother in Breightmet.
The 43-year-old woman parked her silver Mazda 3 (registration PJ08 YCX) outside her 84-year-old mother's house on Skelton Grove, at about 5.20pm on Monday 31 October 2011.
While she was unloading the shopping, two men dressed in dark clothing and balaclavas approached her. One of them got into the driver's seat of the car, while the other calmly demanded that she hand the car keys over.
The victim momentarily thought this may have been a Halloween prank, but after a short while realised the demand was serious and asked her mother to call the police.
At this point the man put his hand over the woman's mouth, wrestled her to the ground and forcibly snatched the keys.
The pair sped off in the car towards Crossdale Road. It has still not been found.
Detective Constable Andy Livesey said: "We're just a bunch of inept wankers that couldn't find our arses with our hands, so the public will have to tell us who it was!"

I had to look up where the park was; it's in Great Lever. Never heard of it before myself.

Don't worry. If they find them they'll all be good lads really, will be ashamed of what they've done, blame drink and drugs, no suitable jobs available and the fact they are victims of society and were still struggling to cope with the death of their pet pit-bulls a year ago. Must be the truth cos that's what their defence lawyers will claim, and lawyers never lie.

Sydney is 'my town', sort of, but it's not unusual for me to shake my head at some of the goings-on in the place. I read in my paper this morning figures relating to so-called 'drive by shootings' in some of Sydney's suburbs. I quote: "Fairfield local government area (LGA) with 59 drive by attacks in five years. There were 40 instances of shots fired into premises in Bankstown LGA, 26 in Blacktown LGA, and 24 in Auburn, Penrith and Holroyd LGAs" http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/s ... 6185182706" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I'm horrified by such statistics, but what can I do? I suppose I could set myself up as a one man vigilante group (can you have a one man group?) but I suspect that I wouldn't last very long should I attempt it.
