It's not that bad! The guy who uses his heart rate as a guide has a resting heart rate of 45 bpm and he's 53!!!Bruce Rioja wrote:Mine's the same as Hermes the Enfield's in that we're the same age (barring one year), but that, of course, is where any similarity ends. In the gym I train at between 148 and 153, though my resting rate will be a feck site higher that 55 (which is barely a pulse, surelyPrufrock wrote:
As for that subtract your age, that'd leave me at 197 BPM, it'd fecking explode!)
Re: The athletics/running thread
OK...
today I officially finished the full 9 weeks NHS couch-to-5K programme - the longest I have ever kept up a fitness drive since my early 20s!!!
9 weeks ago I was happy to run for a minute and walk for a minute and a half to recover...
on wednesday I ran 5K with a 152BPM soundtrack mix - it took me 33mins 13secs.
today I ran with a 158BPM soundtrack mix - (same course) - it took me 31mins 11 secs
so - that's a whole 2mins off... woot!
(downside to the podrunner ambient phat-choon BPM mixes - the almost uncontrollable urge to wave your arms in the air and shout aciiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiid as you run...)

Hmmmm, running about in public in the freezing cold half naked or being mistaken for a Fulham fan... Think I know which I'd rather.thebish wrote:it's not really "smuggling" if you get them out in the open - is it! Had to finish week 4 today, so had no option but to run on this. I've no idea how I got back in one piece!

They look just the job thanks, Hermes. Do they do a 'supported' version for those of us with flat feet, do you know?

That's the place. Unfortunately I don't know whether they offer support varieties, but they have a range, so possibly.Bruce Rioja wrote:It's behind that chemist over from where the Infirmary used to be, isn't it?Gary the Enfield wrote: Walsh P.B.'s
