5km yesterday in Milton Country Park near Cambridge.

23:27. I'd normally be disappointed but considering the terrain and the 14km-round cycling trip I had to do to get there I'm not going to moan much about not getting under 23 again.

Onwards. 16km today. Eek.

Well done everyone.

7 miles easy yesterday followed by 12 miles at 9 min pace and the calf pain is receding.

had 9 days off to see if it would do grumbly knee and achilles some good (and to be honest - was getting used to NOT going out - bad!!!) - so plunged back in today..

went back to x-country route as it is more interesting and picturesque (though also more muddy and I have to stop to open a gate..)

anyway - a new PB for 5K - I did it in 28mins13sec (previous pb was the parkrun last week - 28:32)

and I generated some graphs!

Image

(averaging 9:04 minute miles)

cadence - fairly level because I run with a steady consistent bpm soundtrack - though you can see where I had to stop and open the gate!

Got the dates for the Bob Graham round. we're doing it over the weekend at the end of June. So either Fri 29/30 or Sat 30/1 depending on the weather.
Two runners, three support runners so far.

This is a first - I've just selected my hotels for next week, only this time I've chosen them by dint of them having gyms rather than fancy restaurants! :?

Join in theBish.. start out (nice slow pace), drop back after a couple of miles or the start of the inclines, then join us eighteen hours later or so for a celebratory drink in the bar.

Are you doing 'just' the 42 peaks or adding more onto it?

Yep, just the 'classical' route, clockwise, v. early morning start, hopefully finish before pubs shut. (the thought of a pint is all the motivation I require).

Now that'd be the Billy Graham round, big brother to the Bobby Graham; same course as the Bobby but you'd have to run down Windermere too.

I've been really lazy with my training recently. Just a run on a tuesday and football on a wednesday but might have to pick it up soon after seeing how speedy thebish is getting! You'll be faster then me soon! Humph! ;)

(seriously, well done hun - proud of you!)

I need some motivation. Have a 4 mile race on sunday so ought to get out a couple of times this week....

The motivation exists. You need to travel at the speed of light when streaking down your village high street after the Spuds top you in the league. [bookmarked by Zulus too, so I have witnesses.]

Going to join Victoria Park AC after the marathon i've decided. Needs to be done.

Also, what are people's goals this year? Any particular times/distances they want to get?

I'm after a sub-21 5km time by the end of the year I fancy.

For some reason I can't download week 7 of the running programme. Anyway, I've just checked it out ont' net and this week I've to run for 25 minutes non-stop three times. THREE times  Without Laura cheering me on either :(
