Old people, m'dear, have to be able to explain the dribbles on their trousers !!Gooner Girl wrote:Only old people use teapots - and only REALLY old people get wound up about them.bobo the clown wrote:Teapots. Yes, fckg teapots.
They have 2 requirements ;
i. they are watertight .... ie. can hold the water/tea.
ii. they pour.
How fckg difficult can it be to design one to fulfill these requiements ?
Typically (i) is achieved reasonably well.
(ii) however appears to be beyond the wit of man. Pouring tea almost inevitably leads to a trail of liquid onto the work surface/table/cloth as well. The long spout ones work to an extent but the short or no spout ones are bllx.
I may begin a facebook page, a march, occupy a public place .... or simply grumble. I've not decided yet.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Wife drinks coffee, so when we're out anywhere it's coffee and a pot of tea for one. Never yet had one where either the teapot or hot water jug doesn't leak all over the table.bobo the clown wrote:Teapots. Yes, fckg teapots.

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

Ta and everything but their site has the 4 slot classic at £200. Obviously this is an administrative cockup by their webmaster because my first car didn't cost that.Lord Kangana wrote:Get a Dualit. I remember my mum nearly murdering my dad many years ago when he bought her a heated rear windscreen. What could be better than a toaster for life? Women are just so impractical at times.

Yes. It was in the dim and distant days when the heater didn't come as standard. We laugh now, but really, he had to sleep with one eye open for a few days and hide the steak knives.

Admit it's a two slot, but the wife got a Breville for under thirty quid on Bury Market. Takes a full size Warby's toastie slice easily.CrazyHorse wrote: Ta and everything but their site has the 4 slot classic at £200. Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Really, Tango? Have you got a model number? My toaster lives in a cupboard and is very rarely used due to the slot/breadsize problem. Is yours one of those with one massive slot though?TANGODANCER wrote:

Model number is VT1178 Bruce. Slots don't look massive, but they fit and toast comfortably. Two slots.Bruce Rioja wrote:Really, Tango? Have you got a model number? Sorry Bruce, misread the number but here's the very fella. Bread goes in long way down and might not be what you need but it's selling at £15 on Amazon.
