That works unless the change is a note as well.Prufrock wrote:Defo with you on the giving you a receipt for everything. Some places even say you get your money back if they don't give you one. For the likes of food and drink you should have to ask for one. As for the money on receipt, if there's a queue, just put it in your pocket and sort it out when you aren't flustered. If you just scrunch it up the receipt holds the change so you know which is what in your pocket!
And doesn't help the old dears in front clutching bags, dropping change, holding up the queue!

Is that why it takes me ages to get to the checkout on Amazon... all the old fogeys dithering over whether to press 'send' or not?

Robert Peston (if that is how you spell his name)
especially on R4 though he's a w@nker on the telly as well.
every word drawn out in sonorous "listen to me i'm really really important" manner
never uses 50 words when 500 will do.
patronising fecker

Agreed - cos most of the time - i don't. And it is annoying when its all piled in together, i agree BWFCi.Worthy4England wrote:I'm half with you on this one.BWFC_Insane wrote:People who give you change that is placed on top of the receipt?
Why? FFS!
In what world does that make things easier?
But to be honest I'd rather start with "would you like a receipt"

By jingo, I do believe we've found summat else to agree on

Often I require a receipt. Now, the order of events goes: Cashier puts receipt on their palm and counts change onto top of it. Cashier then turns hand over as they hand it to you thus leaving change under receipt in your hand. At this point one of two things happens - either your receipt (and possibly a banknote) blows away and you have to go chase after it. Or, you immediately clench your fist. If you do the latter then you have to slightly unclench your fist to try to delicately remove the change with the thumb and forefinger of your other hand - cue - coins rolling around the floor. Whatever happened to just placing it on the counter? Bastards!

Dear oh dear.
I can understand GG being upset about this, but she is an Arsenal fan, a softie Southerner and a girl.
Man up FFS and put the change in your pocket. Jessies.

Well yes, but the change goes in the pocket - the receipt in the wallet - ergo, they need separating. Concept too difficult?Wandering Willy wrote:Dear oh dear.

still quicker than putting it on the counter (if there is one) - and watching clumsy people with stubby fingers unable to pick up the 5p pieces!!Bruce Rioja wrote:Well yes, but the change goes in the pocket - the receipt in the wallet - ergo, they need separating. Indeed, but when change is placed on the counter you can just swipe it off with one hand into the other - dans la poche - au revoir!thebish wrote:still quicker than putting it on the counter (if there is one) - and watching clumsy people with stubby fingers unable to pick up the 5p pieces!!Bruce Rioja wrote:Well yes, but the change goes in the pocket - the receipt in the wallet - ergo, they need separating.
