Liverpool laughing stocks?

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

"39 people had died at the 1985 European Cup final in Brussels, and Liverpool fans were blamed for their deaths.
To this day I am none the wiser as to where precisely the true weight of culpability lay for the Heysel disaster
"

I recall Utd players being tear gassed when they turned up at Anfield several years ago. Their then manager, Ron Atkinson said to journalists at the time "You watch. It will be our fault tomorrow"
"Get your feet off the furniture you Oxbridge tw*t. You're not on a feckin punt now you know"

Well I think he's very perceptive....
They think we are deluded, self pitying, bolshy, arrogant, provincial and parochial, unwashed mass of chip-on-the-shoulder has-been sentiment. They think we’ve got red shit in our eyes and have no chance of seeing their objectivity for what it is. We’re so partisan, so Kenny, so Shankly, so Scouse, that we can’t tell race from wrong.
LFC. Less history than Bolton.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Hmm. Go on...
More the allegations of each side that all of it is a conspiracy of one sort or another (people on the panel with links to Man United/Alex Ferguson, why certain bits of the report seem to contradict each other, blah blah), but then there are things that genuinely stick out like why the ref of the initial fixture decided to destroy/lose his notes on something as serious as an allegation of racist abuse in one of his most high profile games, why the handshake protocol was changed for the recent fixture at Old Trafford, why Evra's racist abuse of Suarez in the exchange was ignored, and so on. But like I said, I'm just so sick of the whole thing and the reactions that it's engendered from all concerned really. A great excuse/reason to have a reasoned debate on racism in football has been spurned in favour of pantomimes and witch-hunts, fanaticism and ridiculousness.

Travel chaos today when a train derailed between Liverpool and Crewe forcing the Scouse fans to make alternative travel arrangements. I think there should be a public enquiry over the next 10 years costing £10m to find out who is responsible. They then should be castigated for their deliberate actions against the good people of Liverpool.

Is it racist to call Suarez an outrageous, disgraceful diving tw@t ?

I've just seen his triple tuck & pike in the Arsenal match. This fckr has got to be hounded out of English football.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Wasn't his only bit of cheating in the match either... He's a nasty piece of work isn't he?

He is. The worst bit is when a blatantly correct decision goes againt him, and he puts his hands up to his face as though the biggest travesty the world has seen since the Spice girls split has just occurred.

He brings the game into disrepute. As do Liverpool for supporting him.

Mind as we now know Liverpool fc stand for racism, I don't think they can get any lower as a species.

Perhaps the sun should boycott them?

Its the whining and dissent to the ref that wound me up. Kyut was bad too, questioning every little decision. The sky commentators pointed out that Suarez was clipping peoples ankles to take them off balance before whisking the ball away but that it was unlikely anything the ref would notice even if it was foul play.

Have not watched Liverpool much recently and didn't pay much attention to the racism stuff, but i was a bit taken aback by some of their players behaviour today. Shockingly bad attitudes, maybe they were frustrated at losing a game they perhaps should of won, but even so! Ah well, plenty to taunt my Liverpool supporting neice and nephew about anyway!

I think you will find that there was some contact (Well according to Jim 'One Eyed Fecker' Beglin). I have looked at the video a number of times and I certainly can't see any contact.

I'd agree there was minimal contact (looks like they bang shins very briefly as Szczesny tries to pull out). Also worth pointing out that there doesn't need to be contact for it to be a penalty, although there does need to be contact for Suarez to spasm in the air the way he did like some hysterical tit. Surprised the ref gave it, to be honest; he must've been basing it largely on guesswork. Still, 'justice was done', as they say.

Blurred has it. Absolutely blatant there is contact on that slo-mo. Clear as day. Also absolutely clear it wasn't enough to send him flying like he did, the odious little shit.

As Blurred says, there doesn't even have to be contact. Seem to remember Stevie Me, on the one ocassion he actually was roundly accused of diving, being unfairly treated (as opposed to the countless times he has got away with genuine dives) when Blurred's lot played Sheffield United on th'opening day a while back. Defender went in with a ludicrous tackle that our favourite diving England vice captain had to jump about 8 foot to hurdle and as such fell over. Penalty, though no contact. Right decision. Gotta wonder if he'd have got it had he been wearing a Bolton shirt though....

Suarez was already projecting himself through the air before any contact.

There wasn't any contact. None whatsoever. It's as plain as day! Suarez is a disgrace. An utter disgrace.

But how awesome were the 2 saves? Both the first from the pen, but especially the second from the rebound. :D

Magnificent. Seriously magnificent. Almost as magnificent as Jaaskelainen's double save at OT a few years ago :-)
