Tell you what I watched for the first time ever over the weekend, Family Guy. Why's no-one ever told me about this before

The earlier seasons are far better, in my opinion.

I watch precious little TV and rely upon people saying 'you really must see..." so then I buy up back copies on DVD so as to start from the beginning. Looks like I'll be doing the same with this.

That's why I'm trying to sell it.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Tonight I will mainly be watching:
1) The Apprentice - series 1,762 [I know, I know. I'm shallow and easily pleased, but I like watching folks making complete tits of themselves (including Sralan)]
2) Four Rooms - series 2 [loved the way out stuff on the first series] [and also the prats who bought the Banksy which ended up costing more in crane hire to move than its market value]

There's a Napoleon Dynamite cartoon? Wow!P.O.S. wrote:Watched some of the Napoleon Dynamite cartoon last night. Woeful. A million miles away from the world the film created
When the film first came out I got a free ND chapstick from somewhere. Went to a party and the Lafonda (sp?) actress was there. Still had it in my pocket so showed her the chapstick.

The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

I was wearing a Vote For Pedro tshirt about 2 months before the film gained its cult following - I hate people who get "knowing looks" from others, unless its me who is getting them!
Cartoon is crap though, I watched one last night where Napoleon singlehandedly batters about 10 blokes using special powers. In fact from what Ive seen, the majority of it is him kicking hell out of loads of people - totally goes against what type of person he really was in the film!

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Argh. There is slapstick in the film, the bit with the uncle throwing the steak is genius, but you're right he's the opposite of an action hero. I guess making it like the film wouldn't get kids to watch it. It's a shame, you could maybe improve his general attitude a bit and make a decent anti-hero out of him in a cartoon.P.O.S. wrote:Armchair Wanderer wrote:There's a Napoleon Dynamite cartoon? Then ensure you have suitable changes of underwear available and don't have drink while watching it as you'll be spitting the bloody stuff out as youwatch.Bruce Rioja wrote:P.O.S. wrote:What next - fire? the wheel?! Some of the things they say are truly jaw-droppingly "how do they get away with that ??"
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I shook my head and cursed when I saw the advert for the cartoon! Knew it'd be shit. Glad I haven't seen it, nobody will take the magic of the film away from me, gosh!

Family Guy's a laugh. Cracking for a while, but becomes stale as it goes on. The South Park send up of Family Guy is piss funny on that front.
FG's sister show, American Dad, is neither here nor there.

As I said previously, the earlier seasons of Family Guy are the best. Always take a season of FG on holiday with us.....become somewhat of a tradition, the lad loves it (yes, I know, it's not age appropriate)Verbal wrote:Family Guy's a laugh.
