Re: Today I'm angry about.....
I, to avoid appearing sexist/racist/elitist or from London made the options generic.
In this particular case it IS actually sense checking to ensure you are correct in your presumptions (I don't doubt it, just always worth a second look) Then do all of #1 and ALSO arrange a PI for the next one. You can put them on stand-by for if she doesn't turn in.
Then you'll have her.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I do sympathise and obviously I don't know her full circumstances, but are you sure you do too?
I'm a 'Green' manager according to the Advanced Leadership Programme I undertook a couple of years ago.
I will give an employee every opportunity to explain their actions and ask what I can do to make their job less stressful. That way I maintain a fully motivated workforce and productivity is maintained and targets exceeded.
I do have to admit, though, I am responsible only for myself.
If any lead-swinging, single parenting, task avoiding, Munchausens by proxy-ing, bed wetting lesbian tried that in my office I'd swing for her.

a lazy swipe, Bobo even for you! you can do better than that!!bobo the clown wrote:Once the bish has stopped being super-pedantic (well, he won't stop, he'll just move on to another opportunity) ...

context is everything.
it is not at all pedantic given BWFCi's noble and long, creditable record of defending people against the kind of sweeping generalisations the Daily Mail is often guilty of - BWFCi often does this against the tide of opinion - and very well - and sometimes, almost courageously.
so - here - I am genuinely surprised.
single parents are no more likely to use childcare in a fraudulent way for work-avoidance than any other category of parent.
her single-parent status is not the issue causing anger any more than the colour of her skin or her sexual orientation would be. the issue is using childcare as an fraudulent excuse for work avoidance.
had it been hoboh, then it would have made sense to me and I would have filed it under "run-of-the-mill-stereotyping" and got back to sorting GG's knicker-drawer... but, as it was BWFCi - I was genuinely taken aback by the generalisation from a specific employee-problem to "single parents."

Also this is the ranty thread, where sometimes things won't be fair and balanced (or actually the entire forum...

And I've already stated its not single parents per se, just those who abuse or seemingly abuse their status. And as I've said anyone who does so (single parents, parents, non parents).....

Actually, on checking, I find I'm a Hub manager (which is good, apparently) I'm predominately Blue with Green tendencies when in conflict.

Of course some might say you lot all wasting valuable work time posting on a forum is very naughty and you should all be punished by your bosses anyway, and it could be a case of the pot calling the kettle black (i wouldn't suggest that of course though, ermmmm

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
We used to have a C.E.O who probably wouldn't get a rating in that manual . He once approached a girl in the office who had her breakfast spread out over her desk: Toast,(just done in the kitchen) butter, pot of marmalade and fresh cup of coffee.Gary the Enfield wrote:
"Good morning xxxxx. Where's so and so?" he asked her.
"Oh, he's in a meeting" she replied.
"Hmm, he spends as much time in meetings as you do eating" said the C.E.O, and walked off leaving a scene of outrage, tears and a mass office discussion in his wake.

I'm Red/Blue which I believe means, when the marketing department (generally yellows) are tossing about with it, I'm not interested and once it gets past a level of detail I think I can de-risk, I'm not very interested either.Gary the Enfield wrote:Bruce Rioja wrote:So, green as in?Gary the Enfield wrote: I'm a 'Green' manager according to the Advanced Leadership Programme I undertook a couple of years ago.
