Chung-yong Lee
The latest is that there is still no set date for a return, he has yet to partake in team's training, he is completely pain free, and Coyle does not wish to rush his return. Lee said in an interview that was released today that he wants to make his comeback before season's end.

If he hasn't trained with the team we won't see him back this season, unless we're 23-0 up against Stoke on the last day with one minute left of injury time.

And thats assuming we don't need a 23-0 win for the goal difference to stay up......Gary the Enfield wrote:Hodori wrote:The latest is that there is still no set date for a return, he has yet to partake in team's training, he is completely pain free, and Coyle does not wish to rush his return. They have 6 matches left in their fixtures list. What makes you so certain?
Re: Chung-yong Lee

For the very reason you stated. He won't be risked.

I'd rather see him play with no legs than play Eagles

If he is100% fit and in no pain what is the risk?
Probably carries more goal threat than the rest of our front line put together so if he is fit, get him on the bench. We are desperate!

I doubt he's 100% match fit.

Which might be a tad ungrateful seeing our support through his problems?immaturefanboy wrote:I doubt he will continue to stay in Bolton of we get relegated...
Si Deus pro nobis, quis contra nos?
Re: Chung-yong Lee
he'd still be under contract - so ultimately wouldn't really be up to him - and it'd be a risk for anyone splashing mind-changing cash on a player who hasn't yet proved himself to be any good after a serious injury and a whole season out of the game....TANGODANCER wrote:Which might be a tad ungrateful seeing our support through his problems?immaturefanboy wrote:I doubt he will continue to stay in Bolton of we get relegated...
Re: Chung-yong Lee
It may not be CYL's decision. I would imagine that most players will have a clause in their contracts to either take a drop in salary or be sold. Ultimately it may all depend on how much money he is on.TANGODANCER wrote:Which might be a tad ungrateful seeing our support through his problems?immaturefanboy wrote:I doubt he will continue to stay in Bolton of we get relegated...
Do not trust atoms. They make up everything.
Re: Chung-yong Lee
Would be a bit grim if we're not using CYL as a result of having to pay him for a specific number of seasonal appearances or something to that effect. Personally I can't see why that would ever be the case as staying in the Premiership surely has to warrant far more financial reward to play him.
He's the only long term absentee thats not yet managed to make a game this season. Stuart Holden had the Villa Cup game. Mears has played a game now if only CYL was fully fit and raring to go it'd be great to see him back.

If he's not started proper training yet.
Then he's at least 2-3 weeks away from a reserve game.
Will probably need 2 or three of those before he's considered for the first team.
So we won't be seeing him this season.

Pretty sure they were saying he's not started proper training a while ago. It must just be prolonging the time until he starts proper training. After all we were hopeful he was making steady recovery and going to be back for Feb but its late April now and still no signs that hes any nearer to his return.

But as stated in the OP, he hasn't resumed full training yet with the first team.
Probably because he's been suffering discomfort during the initial stages of his recovery and they've been waiting for that to settle down.
As it stands he won't be ready for first team games this season, will he?
