Re: Contract expiry
Dunno, but do you trust something which guesses "market worth"? I'd say we can keep it tidy in-house.Athers wrote:Does any of this disagree?

Re: Contract expiry
That's definitely the worst part about it as it's eternally subjective, but as far as it goes on info it's not an unuseful website I think. Worth clicking on Peter Harrison's list of players for a laugh.

Akinori Nishizawa - We have that prick Harrison to thank for that one.Athers wrote:That's definitely the worst part about it as it's eternally subjective, but as far as it goes on info it's not an unuseful website I think. Worth clicking on Peter Harrison's list of players for a laugh.
I'm not sure the market values are anywhere near correct.
Robinson - £1.3m
and
Eagles - £4.4m
Do not trust atoms. They make up everything.

Re: Contract expiry
I think this has been discussed before, isn't transfer fee + remaining wages on contract?

Re: Contract expiry
Righto, all these players who still have years to run after this summer. Do they all have wage drops for relegation?

why would we need to know that??officer_dibble wrote:Righto, all these players who still have years to run after this summer. Do they all have wage drops for relegation?

The bereavement support groups we hold can be full of humour - so, I guess - yes!officer_dibble wrote:do you cope with grief through sarcasm bish?
is there a better way? (some of the endless hysterical posts on this Forum might suggest not!)

I hope that we get shut of 'all' the out of contract players - I won't lose sleep over not seeing any of them again in a white shirt, I also hope that Coyle does the decent thing and goes with them along with his Burnley pals
The only one I would possibly consider keeping is Ricketts on reduced wages

see PT - it's infectious!! You are saying something vaguely positive about one of our players. I fear that the Rose Tint virus has taken proper hold of you.... it's just a matter of time....

it creeps up on you PT... by next season you'll be making Tango look gloomy!
Re: Contract expiry
I will platt s**t if that happens
Re: Contract expiry
I reckon that Reo-Coker's got a relegation release clause put in his contract. Which even though it says Summer 2013 he won't be here then.
If, on the off chance we do stay up, we need to sign someone of genuine quality. Doesn't matter their age. If they can hold the ball and pass it to a team mate without it going wayward for 80% of the time then that'll keep pressure off the rest of the team. I like the model we're trying to adopt, sign them young and then make a return on investment, but it has to come at a balance. Hierro, Djorkaeff, Campo, Okocha, Diouf, Stelios all had the capacity to hold the ball when needed which meant a shift further up the pitch with less pressure on the team, had we signed a player of that ilk (with the transfer money spent as a majority on wages) we'd've done a lot better i'd image.
Hopefully it'll be a case of lesson learned and we can build with that in mind.

Re: Contract expiry
Allon reduced wages maybe BUT Petrov is currently playing for a contract which makes it easy to forget how patchy he was when there was planty time left on his contract.Jussi would be a reserve, KD certainly can do a job but not really for 90 mins.Jez wrote:hope we keep petrov, ricketts skd and Jussi
Ricketts is an excellent pro,as is NRC so I hope they stay. If coyle is still here I can see us going down a very young path and the likes of Ricketts and NRC would be invaluable.
Infact if coyle goes I still think the route would be investment in the young.

Re: Contract expiry
Can't see that happening. The messiah has already said, we need to continue the current policy - spending all Eddie's hard earned on youngsters that may or may not prove to be any good. But it's pretty safe, because they never get off the bench, so difficult to disprove.Mar wrote:I reckon that Reo-Coker's got a relegation release clause put in his contract.
