Has he taken the 'p' then ?

I can't be bothered looking him up.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Far be it from me to ever inject optimism or good cheer, but my inner little-ray-of-sunshine is bursting out here.

Sordell had 12 goals before Christmas, for a Watford side that weren't very good.

Ngog is certainly good enough to cause problems for Championship defences.

Lee and Eagles on the wings, possibly with Wylde coming in, to do a Scottish Stuart Storer role.

Reo-Coker and Holden in the middle.

There's Championship goals in that there side.

So, 17th at Christmas, then...

Whatever league we're in next season I want to see what a N'Gog/Sordell partnership up front would look like. I like N'Gog alot, think he's a strong prescene, holds the ball up well and is brings others into the game nicely. Only issue is it all sounds a little similar to another striker in our first eleven and don't complement each others styles too nicely.

Mears, Ream, [Experienced Championship Clogger On A Free], Alonso.

Defence'll be OK.

Not wishing to rain on anyones parade here but I recall Andy Todd having a superb (ish) season in the Prem at centre half and yet struggling in the Championship when we went down.

Feck it - we're not going down and if we do, we're coming back up on 100 pts. I call this stage 'deniaceptance' 8)

Mears - coming back after being out for a whole season
Ream - looks promising, but still has a lot to learn
[Experienced Championship Clogger On A Free] - who ?
Alonso - in jail

Yep, 'sorted'. :oyea:

Yep. But he'll be OK after a pre-season. And there's Joe Riley, too.
Right-backs coming out of our arse. Metaphorically speaking.
Ream - looks promising, but still has a lot to learn
Did OK against Millwall - should be alright at that level. Especially if alongside him we have:
[Experienced Championship Clogger On A Free] - who ?
Who? I don't bloody know. I barely pay attention to the Premier League beyond Wanderers, do you expect me to follow the Championship as well? Surely there must be someone - 30-something, knocked around various clubs at that level for a few years, out of contract?
At a push, I believe Paul Scharner's not being renewed by West Brom. He was good a couple of years back - could we get him? Otherwise, find a Gerry McEilheinney for the iPhone generation. There must be someone.
Or, in desperation, there's Andy O'Brien.
Alonso - in jail
Oh yeah. I forgot. Well, see solution for central defender. Iain Harte is apparently out of contract at Reading - he's probably not good enough to play in the top flight but can do a job.

I understand Harte's being offered a new contract.

Whichever division we're in, I'd make Ricketts the contract renewal of choice. Especially now Wheater's buckled. Gives us the option of finding a centre-back or a left-back. Who's that little left-back Leeds have loaned? He looks a cut below the Premiership...

Well, if we can get Ricketts to renew his contract on reasonable (Championship-level) terms, then yes. Definitely.

As for your other option - I'd rather have the manager of Lassiters at left back. And I don't know about you, but that don't make me feel good.

He is. He also made it into the Championship team of the year (takes all the set pieces so gets plenty goals and assists for a left back.

Reading have also been looking at a pal of mine who now plays in Denmark. They & Feyenoord had scouts watching him for a few games last month.

To be honest, I reckon this lad could do a job for us, but then I'm bias!

He's similar to Harte in that he puts in a fantastic delivery, but he's much more athletic than him. Been in brilliant form for well over 12 months now.
