Quite. Henri who?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Disagree, dude. He was Arsenal's Next Big Thing before Wilshere. Bags of U21 caps, but hasn't yet kicked on. Guess we're back to the old question about the percentage success rate of youth academies.Bruce Rioja wrote:Quite. Henri who?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Disagree, dude. Look how many Arsenal players are out on loan...

Nicky Shorey and Somen Tchoyi released from WBA. Worth a punt?

No thanks on Shorey. Will be 32 in Feburary. Would rather give those games to Alonso.
Don't really see how Tchoyi fits Coyle's chosen formation.

While we are in the mode of signing oldies;

The Manager informed me after our testimonial match on Tuesday that the club would not be offering me a new contract.

I now plan to have a short holiday during which I will contemplate my next move.

We were linked with him under Megson, but he fits the Coyle criteria of young and attacking... could be a good alternative to Alonso and Blakeman... his Wikipedia page already mentions him being in talks with Palace and Sheffield United...David Lee's Hair wrote:As was Joe Mattock... viewed as a big young prospect not so long ago... and a LB...jmjhb wrote:Nicky Shorey and Somen Tchoyi released from WBA. The bits underlined made me smile, the lad is 18, only just broken into the reserve team not a high earner first team "star":
From "Footy Mad" website:
Derby County are set to add to their squad with 18 year-old winger James Caton
James Caton a young hopeful from Bolton is the Rams latest target for the close season.
The talented Left winger is said to be keen on joining the Rams and Derby are at the head of the queue for his signiture.
Caton has found it hard to get into the Trotters first team and now finds himself surplus to requirements following Bolton's relegation to the Championship. Bolton are also intent on reducing their wage bill by half following their demotion...
Also mentioned on Sky:

Clayton is Leeds' 'next big thing' rated just a tad under Snodgrass.Riviman wrote:Leeds United midfielder Adam Clayton:

I'm sure Warnock would hate to see him leave...but it is Bates we're dealing with!
More in the Holden mould than a NRC sort of defensive brute so don't know how it'd all work out. Great shout though.
Re: Jaffka's gossip thread on the ins and outs at the 'Bok
Burnley have offered 400k for him.

Fck he must be on some salary then.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I'd like us to make a few signings like Clayton. There's some really promising young players in the Championship that should be attracted to joining us.

Hoboh, I don't think you're quite getting this, the aim isn't to break Sean Davis' record cost per minute.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

I like how he specified it would be a short one, like anyone would have noticed even if he'd been gone half the season.ohjimmyjimmy wrote:Yes you take a deserved holiday Michael after the tough season you've had.Hoboh wrote:While we are in the mode of signing oldies;
