I'll always thanks Steinsson for that one half season back in '08. I think we'd have gone down without him. He set up a few vital goals and made us more solid defensively. After that it seemed to go downhill for him. He was no longer the chest-thumping beast with adrenaline turned up to 11. Seemed like he was just trying not to f*** up.

Let's relive his finest moment:

he may not see it this way - what with the premiership glamour of Wiggin winking slyly at him... but it might be a better move to go up one division and find your feet rather than try to jump 2 and miss the cut...

Chance Ryan Bertrand might start in the cup final tomorrow, guess that dashes any hope of him being loaned out to the championship. What a come down that would be.

Just noticed Phil Gartside tweet that Petrov is under contract, so no need to mention him. Clears that up then.

Petrov in the championship. Could be shite. On the other hand could destroy teams....

Shame really, exciting player on his day. Capable of the spectacular.

Also capable of the "he was playing?"

Could be good on the wings with Chungy and Petrov, with Eagles and Wylde on back up. Then again Petrov might go back to being unimpressive, chungy might not recover and wylde might not step up... who knows?

I think at that level Petrov, Eagles, Chungy will all shine. Wylde bit of an unknown quantity!

Exactly. Don't want to get too optimistic! :D
I left Eagles out but he's a bit of a prick so he'll probably get distracted by his own reflection somewhere.

Not to mention that they'll all be injured by early October.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Our 24 man depth chart (+2 maybes)

GK Ádám Bogdán, Jussi Jääskeläinen, Robert Lainton, Jay Lynch

LB Sam Ricketts, Marcos Alonso (Jail???)
CB Tim Ream, David Wheater, Zat Knight, Adam Blakeman
RB Tyrone Mears, Joe Riley

LW Martin Petrov Gregg Wylde
DM Darren Pratley, Fabrice Muamba (health ???)
CM Mark Davies, Stuart Holden, Josh Vela
RW Chung-Yong Lee, Chris Eagles

FW David N'Gog, Marvin Sordell, Kevin Davies (captain), Tom Eaves, Jack Sampson

Good squad. Much better than most relegated teams end up with. Young, cheap with upside. Expect 3 or 4 new faces..
Keeper: Great for this level. Gotta keep Bogdan.
Defense: Legit left back needed -as Alonso may goto jail- so Ricketts can cover CB. Shame about Wheater injury.
Midfield: Mavies might go. Muamba may not recover at all so need another DM. Wings are excellent for this level though don't tackle well or track back.
Strikers: Sordell and Eaves may step up. Davies may flourish in the rough and tumble while N'Gog is still a wait 'n' see. Chelsea are looking to loan Luakaku get in their Owen!
What could've happened; did.
