Re: Where are you going tonight?
Lovely picture, Clapton. I did wonder what it must look like as we couldn't see anything above 1000ft. The rain was absolutely relentless and didn't stop once. When we got onto the top we simply couldn't cross any of the streams that lead to the tarn (which itself was overflowing with abandon, creating the most spectacular waterfalls all the way down the ghyll). Those normally babbling streams were serious, gushing torrents of water. As such we turned back, only, going up was a piece of piss when compared to coming back down which was basically treacherous. Muggins here went arse over tit on a large inclining rock, landing on my left hand before sliding to the bottom of it. I now have - two 'burst' fingers, a swollen, cut and bruised left hand, a cut and bruised left wrist, a pulled left forearm (I didn't know you could do that ;?) and pulled muscles in my left shoulder. The wine's out now!clapton is god wrote:For a little extra effort you could tag Ullscarf as well, the fell at the very centre of the Lakes.Gary the Enfield wrote:You lucky bastard. Bowfell and the Langdale valley are one of my favourite places in the world. Breathe deep and enjoy.
This was the Langdale Pikes as I walked through the valley just last week to the Old Dungeon Ghyll where I stayed for the night: It was pissing down then too but for these few seconds.

If you look, GG, very, very closely, right in the middle of this picture you'll see our football stadium.Gooner Girl wrote:When i was at school all the books we read in English and the history of England gave the impression that the north was grey, bleak and industrialised. I know thats not strictly true - hence why i put the wink... Perhaps you had better take me on holiday up there Bish to educate me. Am sure they have some 5 star hotels somewhere!thebish wrote:what?????????Gooner Girl wrote:

you could do it yourself by editing your post and replacing your image url with tango's...
tango's is:

in your post - put that between your image tags... job done!

For future ref on big pictures: Save pics as "My Pictures" then right click on it and then click "re-size pictures" before using Imageshack or whatever.Bruce Rioja wrote:Perfect, Tango. Is there anything you can do to make the pic on my post the same size too?

They've gotta get there first!
They played back-to-back nights in Manchester on Weds and Thursday and only played four songs on both nights - Alive, Evenflow, Betterman and Just Breathe. The rest was completely different. What a band. I have a professional crush on Matt Cameron.

A wedding reception.
Thoughtfully timed for 8.00 tonight. Nicely clashing with a certain football match...

Went to one the day before we played Stoke in the semi - so the day of the Citeh/Utd semi - bride eventually relented the day before and managed to get tellies all around Rivi Hall, as all her family are Utd or Citeh.William the White wrote:A wedding reception.

Probably wouldn't have been any different had us/Stoke been drawn out first, as all his family are Trotters.
