Bolton 2012/13

Post by gruss10 » Wed Jun 27, 2012 3:36 pm

Hi,
I’m collecting some info on this seasons Championship, I was wondering if you guys could let me know the following :
- Your first choice XI
- Who you would point out as the players to watch this season
- Where do you see your team finishing this season?
I will come back in a few weeks to allow for new signings etc.
Cheers.

Provided everyone is fit/pending new signings, I'd guess at...

---------------Bogdan-------------------
-Mears-----Ream------Knight----Ricketts-
-Chungy---Holden----Andrews----Petrov-
-----------Davies-----N'Gog-------------

Looks some team for the championship does that. On virtual paper at least.

Mind two in that team need to sign contracts before we can definitely include them I guess.....

I'm not sure I'd be that confident about the team, without watching them play. I'm not sure I buy into the "He'll be alright for the Championship" way of thinking.

And of course, much of it will rest of the form of two players who were injured all last season, and so now not only do they have to stay fit, they have to try and live up to the expectations that have built up around them.

Aye, it will be like if Andranik ever had got a big run of games, imagine the pressure?!

That team looks all right, not convinced the depth is there at the moment. Whatever others might think about his ability, it seems clear OC rates him, and so I'd also be very surprised if Mark Davies wasn't in there somewhere. Probably alongside Holden in a 4-4-2.

I'd say that team above isn't far off what we'll go with though. Myself, I'd be picking:

Boggers

Mears (though I'd like to see Riley given a run at some point, he looks promising)- New CB- Ream- Ricketts
-----------------------------------Holden-----Andrews---------------------------------------------
--LCY-----------------------------------Mavies------------------------------------Petrov
---------------------------------------N'Goggers---------------------------------------------

With plenty game time for Sordell. Less so for D-Pratz.
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

Pru has it nailed.

Not least because he doesn't mention the spent force that is KD.

4231 - Bogdan, back 4 that's logical, Holden and Andrews then Petrov, Mark Davies/Eagles and Chungy. Striker then can be N'gog or Sordell starting with SKD coming on

Obviously organisation (oh dear) and motivation, team spirit etc comes into it, but individually some of those players are looking very good at that level IMO.

Is the reason why people ain't putting M Davies in there teams because they think he will be sold or because he ain't good enough for the championship, Davies will be the stand out player in that league if we manage to keep hold of him!

If a rejuvenated Kevin Davies isn't captain, and leading out the Whites for game one, I'll be mightily, mightily surprised.

I put Andrews in over Mark Davies because generally Coyle likes to play his signings over people he didn't sign (well, they either go straight into the first team, or they don't play at all for six months). It wouldn't shock me if Davies started alongside Holden though and he'd be in my XI.

What isn't in doubt though, is the fact we'll be playing 4-4-2 and Kevin Davies will be up front. There's no point even contemplating any other options, as they won't even be considered for at least half the season, no matter how we play.

Has Ricketts re-signed? I missed that one if it happened.
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.
