Re: Tennis, anyone.....?
For me Tsonga at his best would overpower Murray. But as said Tsonga is inconsistent. Mind so is Murray at times.....
Tsonga could well be in the top 3 in the world barring the injuries he had at the start of his career, when he was almost out for about 3 years IIRC. I think anyone making Murray a massive favourite is underestimating Tsonga.
Real 50:50 this one for me. However, IF Murray stays level headed like he did against Ferrer, and plays with that sort of patience and consistency, then Tsonga will have to be at his very best to win.

You don't half waffle on
Murray consistently beats Tsonga

Thats why he's a short priced favourite to win

Nah bwfci has it reet on this one.

It's somewhere between the two. Their head to head makes Murray the favourite, but I wouldn't particularly like to put money on it. If they both played to their best I'd still back Murray. For all the talk about how good Tsonga's serve is, Murray is right up there as a returner. And if he can keep pulling out the 130+ serves at big moments he'd be hard to live with. Truth is though, neither are likely to play at their 'best', otherwise there'd be no point watching.

I feel saddened by the departure of Djokovic, largely because he was named after the greatest player ever to wear a Wanderers shirt.

Not at all. But the first two sets were Tsonga at his worst. Now he's getting up to his best and showing why this was never necessarily going to be the walkover some people made it out to be.TANGODANCER wrote:You say that almost like you want Tsonga to win..?BWFC_Insane wrote:Tsonga has broken now. Not really seen anybody claiming that. No walkovers at this level.BWFC_Insane wrote: Not at all. But the first two sets were Tsonga at his worst. Now he's getting up to his best and showing why this was never necessarily going to be the walkover some people made it out to be.

Murray being broken once is hardly indicative of Tsonga being at his best.
Then again, I forgot the British public were tennis experts for these 2 weeks of the year.

The final might be if Federer plays like he did today.TANGODANCER wrote:Not really seen anybody claiming that. No walkovers at this level.BWFC_Insane wrote: Not at all. Tsonga's going for total power now. Might just undo him. Murray mints are too good to hurry mints.

Don't know how you can claim that. He's giving it all he can. Tsonga is no duckegg. For me (granted no expert) it's just terrific tennis by both.Annoyed Grunt wrote:Murray bottling it again?
