Fans Forum 14/08/2012
Just spied this;
Chairman Phil Gartside and manager Owen Coyle will appear at the annual Fans' Forum event at the Reebok Stadium on Tuesday 14 August. Limited tickets are free of charge. Details here - http://bit.ly/OWMGHl" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I've been to a few of these now - the first one being, well, the first one, with OC being piped in as the homecoming hero.
Of course things have moved on somewhat since then and with every one of these events the questions from the floor have been increasingly prickly - just not prickly enough.
I've a feeling this one will be a tad more, shall we say - direct.
How many others go to these things?
Might anyone be going to this one that hasn't been before?

Fair play to Coyle for having the stones to face something like head on..
I wouldn't like to be in his shoes!

Be reet, we'll have battered Tranmere and Barcelona (B) by then.

It'll just be full of dicks going "Why didn't you play Sordell", "Why didn't you play Tuncay"

I do hope that they won't be shoe-horning Alan Gowling into this one. It's always a little embarrassing for everyone when nobody has a question for him.

I thought you liked Alan Gowling, now you say this - are you just flip-flopping here?Bruce Rioja wrote:I do hope that they won't be shoe-horning Alan Gowling into this one. It's always a little embarrassing for everyone when nobody has a question for him.

Gowling's alright on GMR commentary. Calls it as he sees it and he don't pull his punches
Pfffft.

Oh I've nothing against Gowling per-se, but at these do's I want to hear what Coyle and Gartside have to say for themselves. The opinion of a 1970's striker cum radio sidekick is neither here nor there.

Are tickets only available to BWSA members?
Or ST holders too?

Two to club members (So ST holders + ) and one to BWSA members. They're not available 'til Thursday morning though.the-Bowtun-Warrior wrote:Are tickets only available to BWSA members?

You used to get a free pint too but I've seen no mention of that this time.

This all over.boltonboris wrote:It'll just be full of dicks going "Why didn't you play Sordell", "Why didn't you play Tuncay"
I went to the one last year but I think I'll miss it this time for this exact reason.
Re: Fans Forum 14/08/2012
I went to what must have been the first, but the questions weren't particularly challenging, "What do you make of Mark Davies?" and "Why is the shirt crap?"
The infamous, "Why do you leave no-one up for a corner?" was about as challenging as it got, although if I went to this one I fear I'd ask some dull stat-packed question about defending corners and the responsibility of Stewart & Davis on that.

Ah. You see, I don't really know anything about your opinions of Gowling, but I'd made a shoe joke earlier, and, with your talk of "shoehorning", I thought I could do another.Bruce Rioja wrote:Oh I've nothing against Gowling per-se, but at these do's I want to hear what Coyle and Gartside have to say for themselves. I almost slipped in a reference to Tony Dunne's delightful Irish brogue. Be glad I didn't.

Hush, puppy. I must apologise as your flip flop flew clean over my head.
