Ha, I was about to post "Why doesn't Bergsson's 45 yarder against Barnsley never make it onto any of these lists?"
No one ever remembers it so credit to the makers of that video. Can't argue with number 1, although surprised Elmander's vs Wolves is so low and Okocha vs Villa and Curcic vs Chelsea isn't included.

May the bridges I burn light your way
Re: Just to cheer everyone up
I watched this the other night when feeling a bit low and nostalgic for 'better times'...
The days when Jay-Jay playing for us meant I could have a smug little grin at school knowing my team's best player was the one whose tricks everyone else was trying to copy at lunchtime...

Someone put it on YouTube ages agohi there, i'm chris wrote:Ha, I was about to post "Why doesn't Bergsson's 45 yarder against Barnsley never make it onto any of these lists?"

Can someone fill me in on the Worthington goal in terms of the league season at the time etc? Just trying to compare it with the magnitude of the Okocha goal vs West Ham.

I used to get such a kick out of that too. Great times.danardif1 wrote:I watched this the other night when feeling a bit low and nostalgic for 'better times'...

I loved the video and the soundtrack in particular. Bolton videos on YouTube always remind me that Per Frandsen was a proper footballer. Talk about being able to mix it at both ends of the pitch.
Re: Just to cheer everyone up
I always fancied myself as more of a Djorkaeff than a Jay-Jay, hence my reference to 'everyone else' trying those tricks back at school... I was the one practicing elegant passes and subtle off-ball movement (not to much success it has to be said, I could actually do more of the tricks than that stuff50sQuiff wrote:I used to get such a kick out of that too. I also remember watching that Frandsen free kick in the 5-0 Leicester game and spending the next week or so working on my curled free kicks...

I think Elmander's is at 8 so he could time it with the sax-solo.
Good move in my book.

Re: Just to cheer everyone up
You see, that could be right. I know I was playing cricket at the time and missed the bugger. So it had to be either August/Sept or April/May...obviously iidrc...Wandering Willy wrote:Wasn't it in April?Worthy4England wrote:Only a couple of games into the season, still in August iirc.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Well, we lost...Leyther_Matt wrote:Someone put it on YouTube ages agohi there, i'm chris wrote:Ha, I was about to post "Why doesn't Bergsson's 45 yarder against Barnsley never make it onto any of these lists?"

April. My first ever game. What a benchmark to judge all other goals against.
