Did you manage to get it repaired - from my experience of boilers, the minute engineers are really needed, they're usually too busy and not enough of 'em.

I was browsing through Bruce's shirt catalogue! No I didn't get the boiler fixed Worthy; a guy I know got it fired up, but it's leaking fumes from a tiny crack in the casing. We need a new boiler . Got a guy from British Gas coming tomorrow to give me a quote (gulp), but the guy that came yesterday to look at it, reckons he can buy & fit one for about a grand. (Which is slightly less than my wife paid for a new bed last week! And it's coming up to xmas

Just make sure he's 'Gas Safe Registered' That is a cheap quote. 10 years ago I had a Vaillant combi-boiler sourced and fitted and it cost me £1700.00

Last quote I had from Brit Gas was over 2 grand. And that was 2 years ago. said no. Current 22 year old, inefficient and all that - but it still works...Gary the Enfield wrote:Il Pirate wrote:Worthy4England wrote:What was Il Pirate doing in your living room?Bruce Rioja wrote:Remember when it dropped to -20 the winter before last? Cheers guys; I'm expecting something around the two, two & a half grand mark from British Gas, and yes, the guy I know is a corgi registered fitter. Though I don't know what messing with dogs has to do with it.............

Been defunct these two years past. A gas safe registered engineer should be the only person looking at doing that work. Seriously.

Bank card cloned, for the second time in 6 weeks.
No sooner have i sorted the last fraud case out than some arsehole has used my new card to spend £450 at Dixons online yesterday.
Hour on the phone to Barclays, great fun. New card on the way. This time i will request a full investigation!

The "decision to stop girls going to school" shows how back in the dark ages they really are. Says it all.Bruce Rioja wrote:This. The big, brave bunch of tw*ts.
