Good man CAPS.
I don't know if anyone knows, because I never talk about it or even mention it, but he is a mate of a mate and I'm in one of his videos. Lovely bloke.
Love, Ire and Song is my favourite album. Not sure you'd agree with his politics though

Well, funny you should say that....
Any thoughts on this summers controversy?
He and I aren't miles apart - a nice mix of right and left wing

Re: What are you playing tonight?
What do you mean, when he called the BNP far-left, and as a result got labelled a Tory?
I meant the politics around the time of that album. He was in a punk-metal band before he went solo where his stuff was very, very anarchic and lefty. His early solo stuff was disillusioned but still 'lefty', and his later stuff is less and less political.
I haven't spoken to him in a couple of years now; since his career kicked off he wasn't around as much, and I only knew him through friends. He did an interview a few weeks ago where he said once he would have described himself as an anarchist, now he's a libertarian, which is where I am, and I'd hazard a guess not too far away from what you mean by a mix of left and right. Right-wing to an extent economically (in that governments should leave people to their own devices as much as possible) and 'left' wing socially. People grow up, and stop hanging around the back rooms of pubs smoking pipes!
Still, those who described him as a Tory clearly haven't listened to 'Thatcher f*cked the Kids', or realise he is mates with Billy Bragg!

Billy Bragg's house. Perhaps he's by the pool in his hammer and sickle trunks.Prufrock wrote: Still, those who described him as a Tory clearly haven't listened to 'Thatcher f*cked the Kids', or realise he is mates with Billy Bragg!

Why do people with loads-a-dosh invariably have shit houses? It looks like a B'n'B in Brighton.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Pinched loads of music off Maud this weekend:
Mumford and Sons - Babel (which is ace)
Wombats - This Modern Glitch (which is also ace)
Florence and The Machine - Lungs (which I've heard loads in the car but don't have myself)
Bombay Bicycle Club - Flaws (given I've already used one of my musical claim-to-fame stories in the last 24 hours I might as well crow bar in another. Lived three doors down in halls from the lead singer, Jack Steadman's sister. Met him once, a very quiet 16 year old he was too)
The Arctic Monkeys - Suck it and See (dunno yet)
The Vaccines - What Did You Expect from the Vaccines? (dunno yet)
Kings of Leon - Come Around Sunday (dunno yet)
and bits and pieces of Ben Howard (dunno yet).
Fresh meat!

Gotta love the Manics! That's ace.
Through that Ben Howard link, I found Florence covering Drake (whoever he is). I looked up his version to figure out what I was dealing with (all rappy and autotuned and pish). I prefer hers

On Mr Howard, I've only got into him recently so I'm probably not the best person to point you where to find his best stuff, but I love both these songs:
