When was the last time...

Post by truewhite15 » Sat Nov 24, 2012 7:08 pm

...We dominated a game? I mean, proper 80/90 minute jobs, where the opposition hardly have a sniff, and we control the midfield like so many teams have done to us? I'm not thinking necessarily about the big wins here, we might only have scored the odd goal or two, but when was the last game that we never looked really threatened?

... & Newcastle 2 years ago, prior to that.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

We didn't even manage it in three games against Macclesfield last season. That's against as side so poor it lost its league place.

This, barring Craig Bellamy being the only danger man for them. When he went off I wasn't worried in the slightest.

Prior to that, probably when Sammy Lee's Bolton beat Reading. Prior to that, when Stelios scored against Arsenal 1-0.

In other words, it doesn't happen often.

We battered Wolves

The problem is, the scoreline defies the play when you can't defend for toffee

fair play, it's your opinion.
it just goes to show how opinions can differ hugely from two people watching the same match...

First half they were the better side from memory.

I'd give them 10 minutes after our goal

Bar that, it was ours

Was music to my ears listening to a couple of their blokes talking us up and being thankful there hadn't been 5 more minutes

Anyway, one point when you're shit or nowt when you're great?

No contest
