Re: Tonight's Football
Ok good point. But had Boro qualified for Europe via the league, we'd have not qualified for Europe as runners up. It would have gone to a further league place.CrazyHorse wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote:Yep. Otherwise we'd have qualified for Europe when we lost to Boro, we didn't.....Annoyed Grunt wrote:Just the FA Cup runners up that would get a possible Europa Cup spot then?BWFC_Insane wrote:Anyhow unless they've changed the rules you have to win this cup to qualify for Europe. No we wouldn't. Because Boro qualified as winners.
As will happen I believe should Chelsea (assuming they stay in a league european place) for example, beat Bradford in the final........

Re: Tonight's Football
Yeah, I think you're right about that.
I'm fancying Bradford to lift the trophy now.
Plus how funny would it be to see Liverpool finish 7th and then cry about how it's not fair that they're not in Europe, even going so far as to attempt a rule change to get themselves reinstated.

They'd never do that. Don't be silly.CrazyHorse wrote:Yeah, I think you're right about that.

On topic, really "well done Bradford".
Takes you back, doesn't it !!
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Is being beaten by a league two side over two legs worse than not turning up to a wembley semi and being humped 5-0? i.e have we now.lost our 'most emberassing semi final defeat' title?

And whats more embarrassing is that Bradford could and arguably should have won on the night again at Villa park.
Hit the bar and missed an "almost but not quite" sitter in the second half.
Villa were absymal after half time.

Is that what they call themselves? I thought it was Potters or some such - but that might be Burton.bobo the clown wrote:No .... never will happen.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Yes.officer_dibble wrote:Is being beaten by a league two side over two legs worse than not turning up to a wembley semi and being humped 5-0? i.e have we now.lost our 'most emberassing semi final defeat' title?

The football club's nickname is "The Potters" .... but the people of Stoke are referred to, and refer to themselves, as "Stokies".Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Is that what they call themselves? Re: Tonight's Football
Apparently Villa were selling half season tickets with a "buy a half season ticket for a guaranteed ticket for Wembley and the League cup final".
Wonder which end there'll be sitting in? Swanseas or Bradfords?
