Tonight's Football

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

Or are you saying what Hazard did wasn't violent and didn't hurt the ball boy at all?

Which one is it? Lets be clear?
Can I ask you summat, I ? If the one on the ground was a player and not a ball boy would you have felt any differently about it?
the difference is Bruce is that that lads parents do not pay 100S of pounds a year so that they can be treated like s**t by footballer, that lads and parents have given up a huge amount of time and money to try to benefit the game of football by fetching the ball for the players, Premiership footballers should be delighted that somebody has to pay to go and get the ball for them instead of them having to to walk severael yards like the rest of us do when we kick the ball of the pitch!
no - that's not the difference - at least not for the point that BWFCi is trying to make. BWFCi is saying that this was a disgraceful violent assault. so - being a disgraceful violent assault - it shouldn't make any difference if it happened to player or a ballboy. unless, of course (which is the right answer) - it WASN'T a disgraceful violent assault!
It doesn't make any difference.

If it happened on the street it would be the same too.

How the hell could that have happened on the street.
There aren't any goalposts never mind ballboys in back alley footie games!

So, I'm 'on the street & my brief case drops to the floor & I'm in a rush and some scrote drops on it & refuses to let me pick it up and I'm going to miss my deadline/bus/taxi/train so I kick it from under him and he gets a bruised rib in the process.

I later find out he's the son of a director a rival business and had planned to do this and even boasted of it.

When I do this he exaggerates the incident and rolls around claiming I've assaulted him AND he's fckg Welsh.

Go on then .... do I get charges with ABH ?

Just heard Pat Nevin (ex-chairman of PFA) saying he'd be calling to get rid of ballboys after that incident.

I thought Bolton more or less had ? We must have the shitest bunch of slow witted lazy-arsed tossers in all 4 divisions.

Meanwhile, way to go Pat. Talk aboiut over egging something.

Lets say a man is walking down the street absent mindedly playing with his yo-yo. And I mean an actual yo-yo on a string here.

And some teenager comes and takes his yo-yo and lies on top of it.

And the man decides to kick said teenager in the ribs to release the yo-yo.

And said teenager needs to be examined by medical staff.

Sure they shouldn't have laid down on the yo-yo.

But that doesn't justify being kicked in the ribs, even if said kick was to free the yo-yo.

but that fails the test of being anything like what happened at the football.

Hazard did not kick the ballboy in the ribs to release the football
the ballboy did not need to be examined by medical staff
it was not the boy in the street's one and only job to return the yoyo to the man

bobo's scenario is much more similar - and highlights the pretty obvious fact that Hazard's action was not a disgraceful violent assault.

Have you ever seen a kicking incident over a yo-yo? Indeed, have you been on many streets?
Typical example of somebody behaving like a tool and the other guy being the villain. Overblow bollox.

Haven't seen any of today's papers but I'd love to know how many of them have attempted to back-up their 'quelle horreur' stories by referencing Hazard's wages. I'll bet there are quite a few, and I can probably guess which ones they are, too.

I've just watched the incident again. What makes this worse is that the ball boy wasn't actually doing anything wrong. He let the ball roll past him and bounce off the hoardings, then picks it up. As he's picking it up Hazard comes along and pushes him over.
