mrkint wrote:Alright then...next in the sequence (this has been on the telly before in case people remember it)

5 = IV

6 = IX

7 = V
Not on our telly, but
8 = I?

I'd give my reasoning in white but I can no longer see how to do it. :oops:

PS - if I'm correct the one after would also be 9 = I

Off to Clitheroe to pick up a selection of Cowman's excellent sausages.

Probably have a walk around Byrnes and Booths too. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

What I saw was that the digits added up to 1. 2, 3. 5. 8 which is the Fibonaci sequence and the next number should then be 13. It was late at night so I didn't look more closely. Now I'd say the next number is arrived at by reversing the current number and adding the previous. So 1221111211 is what I would say this morning.

nope

first in sequence is 1

I see one 1 - so the next is 11

I see two 1's - so the next is 21

I see one 2 and one 1 - so the next is 1211 etc....
