The one thing I detest about going go-cart racing is when you have to put a helmet on that someone else has had their sweating bonce in. Euuurghh!General Mannerheim wrote:nah, ive talked myself into it now. it would be tempting fate too much to not wear one after all that thought. i bought my brother one for xmas which i was thinking of borrowing but maybe ill just hire a sweaty smelly one over there, keep my hat on underneath it.

Re: General Chit Chat
Just read a very sad story about a little girl and a skiing accident, please wear a helmet!!
Re: General Chit Chat
At the time they were rated by the ACU as gold and silver, so at the time, he was right. Now there is a single safety standard, however I'd sooner have a helmet which passes the tests by a considerable margin than one that scrapes through. I also want a quiter helmet, one that fits properly and is comfortable, which generally means better quality materials and is therefore more expensive.CrazyHorse wrote:Well then Steve is a thieving con artist. Cos safety wise they both have to pass the same stringent tests.Bijou Bob wrote:To quote the salesman who sold me my first decent bike helmet:

and one with bluetooth, heated ear flaps, self demisting visor, pop-down sun-shade, little cups with straws strapped to the sides so I can drink as I ride, full ventilation, integrated neck wind-repeller, a little helicopter blade on the top and a little cannon...Bijou Bob wrote:At the time they were rated by the ACU as gold and silver, so at the time, he was right. I always bought Avg but they changed the shell shape which changed the fit. I wear an ARAI now but to be honest, I dont rate it.

(tbf I did find a rather funny birthday card and scribbled out the Birthday after Happy and replaced it with Valentine's. That took some effort, especially the forking out of £1.95 for the card in the first place)

Romance isn't dead, it's just taken the form of a leopard.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Interrupting this plethora of self-aggrandisement (what a mushy lot you are!):
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/golf/21457904" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - Lydia Ko rules OK.
11 birdies, 1 eagle plus, unfortunately, 3 bogies. The other three holes were completed in regulation.
She's already won the Canadian, New Zealand and N.S.W. open competitions. I wonder if any of our TW golfers would like to take her on - even from the ladies tees? Lydia is 15-years of age.

Re: General Chit Chat
The title of the thread, Duj old chap, is General chit chat. Yon post (there ^ above) is specialist chit chat. Indeed it is sooooo specialist it needs time to breathe after being opened.Dujon wrote:Interrupting this plethora of self-aggrandisement (what a mushy lot you are!):
