Last night - I Am Kloot at The Ritz. Absolutely superb. They're playing the second of two nights there tonight. If I could get a ticket I'd go again.

Hopped on a train at tea time, some top scran and a few scoops followed by the gig and a train practically waiting for us as we came out.
Today I will be mostly kicking myself really hard that I've never been to see them before. What a live band
Was looking out for you Bruce, didn't see you, then saw your photo on FB. We must have been almost next to each other!Bruce Rioja wrote:Last night - I Am Kloot at The Ritz. Absolutely superb. They're playing the second of two nights there tonight. If I could get a ticket I'd go again.

Had a couple of looks around for you, Harry. Hey ho. I'm sure there'll have been many there last night for whom it was their first time, as noted by Bramwell, and what a gig for all it was. Really wish I was there again tonight.Harry Genshaw wrote:Hopped on a train at tea time, some top scran and a few scoops followed by the gig and a train practically waiting for us as we came out.

So you don't go to midweek games then? Mate, they were done by 22:20. Seriously, I'd have rather given you my spare for nowt than have passed it on to a tout for a tenner, which is what I did. Kloot were utterly fecking brilliant.CAPSLOCK wrote:Yeah. yeah. know I should've gone, but twas a school night

Tomorrow night I'm going here.

Any London types know it?
More importantly, are there any other decent paces nearby in case it's crap?

They're dirty, they're filthy, they're never gonna last.

Re: Where are you going tonight?
Never been there, looks like one of the standard London 'pubs' around central London which are massively overpriced but do at least do beer. If it's rubbish you are a 5 minute bus ride from Camden which has all sorts of weird and worderful interesting stuff going on, or a short walk and a ten minute bus from Angel which has loads of bars and pubs and a bit more heart.Wandering Willy wrote:Tomorrow night I'm going here.

Somerstown is/was one of the most deprived areas of the city. Been a while since I was around there on foot but I would be tempted not to stray too far. If you do get the wanderlust, however, you could always check out the recently refurbished St Pancras Station which looks amazing. I believe the newly refurbished Hotel is worth checking out. Failing that, get on the tube and go anywhere you bloody well please.
Oh, and have look at this:

Thanks chaps. I used to live in Camden so am reasonably familiar with that area. Was asking really because it's been a while and that particular pub is new to me.

By the way, if anyone's bored across Easter & looking for somewhere nice to go & something nice to do .... then as ever the Nantwich Jazz, Rock & Blues fest is on 28th March - 1st April. All the pubs & bars in the town offer bands thoughout the day, street venues and yards and pub garden are used to. Costs £6 a day for a wristband which gets you into most venues.
Food, drink & Nantwich's famously above average totty as well.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
