Re: Mark Davies
Scott Sinclair really is edging out Steve Sidwell at Chelsea in the "Never gonna get a game there mate" league table.

Aye, but he was good at a lot of other places. I'd welcome him to ours.Athers wrote:Scott Sinclair really is edging out Steve Sidwell at Chelsea in the "Never gonna get a game there mate" league table.
Re: Mark Davies
Definitely! It's probably only out of pride/shame that he hasn't been loaned out already.

Re: Mark Davies
His own? You have to wonder how he felt last weekend watching his old Swansea mates winning the League Cup, capping a fine season in which they've improved on their first top-flight term.Athers wrote:Definitely! It's probably only out of pride/shame that he hasn't been loaned out already.
Meanwhile he's struggling at City: hasn't played a full game, the only game he's started since September was the loss at Dortmund that knocked them out of their European Cup, and he's generally a late non-impact sub – he's only been on the pitch for three City goals this season, and two of those were in cups...
Stoke (A) D 1-1 (off 74 at 1-1)
Arsenal (H) D 1-1 (off 45 at 1-1)
Villa (H, Lge Cup) L 2-4 (on 62 at 1-1)
West Ham (A) D 0-0 (on 89 at 0-0)
Aston Villa (H) W 5-0 (on 76 at 5-0)
Dortmund (A, Chmps Lge) L 0-1 (off 57 at 0-1)
Reading (H) W 1-0 (on 75 at 0-0)
Stoke (H) W 3-0 (on 82 at 3-0)
Watford (H, FA Cup) W 3-0 (on 74 at 2-0)
QPR (A) D 0-0 (on 86 at 0-0)
Bloke needs a break, methinks...

Re: Mark Davies
He needs game time is unlikely to get it at City at this stage of the season, Championship would be a good spot for him to get starting football until the end of the season

Re: Mark Davies
Both Sinclair and Frei would be good for us. The first time I saw Frei was against Chelsea a while back and I think he won MotM that day. He looks like he'll be an excellent player in 3 or 4 years. I'd probably prefer Frei because he's a natural left winger, which we lack at the moment, but either would do nicely.

Re: Mark Davies
The fact we've sent de ridder back suggests something is afoot. Sinclair would be a cracking signing; dont know the other fella!
Re: Mark Davies
I'm going with the idea that De Ridder's loan spell has finished and either we didn't want to extend, or they wanted him back!
Of course I may be wrong.

Re: Mark Davies
Freedman's quoted in the BN dismissing the Sinclair link but liking Frei:
...and on De Ridder (and de kidders):I would look at the loan market but I don’t like to get bodies in for the sake of it. I have got names in mind but they may not all happen at the right time so we may have to be a bit patient. We have a strong squad but I do think they need some help because of the tough programme.
If you could get Scott Sinclair it would be fantastic and a brilliant idea, but it is paper talk. I heard the rumour myself on Sunday and I nearly crashed the car. There's nothing in that; it is just rumours. Meanwhile, Kerim Frei is a very good player who I admire.
We had Steve de Ridder here and it was very unfortunate for him that we changed the way we played in the last two or three weeks and the different formation didn’t require wingers. He's gone back now and both parties are disappointed he didn’t play as much as he’d have liked to. I think he showed quality but going back means it opens the door for one or two young players here as well. I'm not afraid to put young players in there and there may be a couple on the bench tonight – at least one.

One of the reasons I can't fathom Danny Graham's eagerness to leave also, it's not a bold prediction to say he'll now never win anything in his career. Just go in the Summer ffs!Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:His own? Re: Mark Davies
Yeah, that was an odd move, from a Newcastle fan who once stated he'd rather join Gateshead than Sunderland. Good striker, could have had more options in the summer. Maybe he was pushed out at Swansea, or maybe his agent got in his ear, or maybe he fancied moving back to the area, or maybe he's a tool.Athers wrote:One of the reasons I can't fathom Danny Graham's eagerness to leave also, it's not a bold prediction to say he'll now never win anything in his career. Maybe he just wanted to play football.

Freedman, quoted on Twitter:
(Might be about Bogdan being out for 'two to three weeks', but we'll see)I am looking to go into the loan market to give our squad a bit of help.

I don't think it's just about Bogdan:
"Games are running out quickly, which is unfortunate for us because we're finding a bit of form right now.
"I've not looked at the table because I know that if we can continue playing and I can get a few players in on loan to help the squad - because they are tired right now - we'll climb it.
"I'm not sure how quickly we can climb it because we're running out of games, but we can certainly climb it if I can get a couple in to help the lads."
"I need to use my squad very carefully. It's not as big as I thought it was when I first got here."
"We have got one or two injuries and we have lost one or two players since then, and right enough it was my decision to lose a couple of them.
"But we just need to make sure we have the right set-up week in, week out. Do I need to go into the loan market? I probably do to freshen things up."
