I did it too, which should come as no surprise to people on here. I even drove it 1/2 a mile back to my house. It stalled about 200 yards away and I free wheeled it onto my drive, called the AA out and they came and siphoned the tank. Amazingly it restarted when he put diesel back in. I was very lucky. Had it needed an engine stirp down I would have been charged by my company for the cost.

Diesel in a petrol car for me, and I got lucky in having a real decent old-school mechanic who had a garage on Braford Road. Filled up on Plodder Lane then choked and spluttered as far asSalford Trotter wrote:I heard that could be a very expensive mistake tooAnnoyed Grunt wrote:Can you help if I put diesel in a petrol car?
the motorway slip road off Kearsley Island before it all died. Didn't realise what I'd done till he told me and his charges were really fair.
