I went to Smithills and didn't know a single Asian. :?
I'm guessing you left a long time before I did then - half the school was Asian in the 90's!
Amir Khan is from Smithills so I would say chances are there is probably quite a large amount of Asians there now.

Hmmmm, I might shut the building and go home.
Bit of a flurry this morning, and a sprinkling stuck on car windsceens, gardens etc. Nothing much although it's still trying. Pavements just turned it to rain-type wet. Wind is more of a problem, wife set off for the hairdressers and was back in five minutes; wind had shredded her umbrella to ribbons. Dog's not too chuffed with it either
My dog can't believe her luck, she thought snow season was well and truly over. When I let her out this morning she did a cartoon style run up with all four legs galloping on the spot before chucking herself into a pike with double somersault and caroomed headfirst down a snow covered grassy slope on her back for about ten yards all four paws waving about wildly while trying to snap up gobfulls of snow, the daft bitch.
My cats get lost in it, literally they disappear.

That's good. At least a few creatures are having fun in this. I'm not - no siree. I'm cold, wet and miserable, but my dog is having the time of her life.

Ended up coming home from Benidorm on Mon night. My dog went in for an op and sadly didn't pull through. Truly a really really awful thing losing a family pet :(

So sorry to hear that. :( losing a pet is terrible. Lost my dog last summer and still not really over it. I miss him every day. Treat yourself gently. Xx

At least LLS can profess not to have seen/remembered Dirty Dancing.

My sister used to watch it all the time.

Obviously she didn't used to make me practice the dancing with her, including the lift. That never happened.

Blimey, she must have been pretty committed to it if she was prepared to lift you

Good grief, that took some deep research. I've never seen that Dirty Dancing, although I've heard of it obviously, nobody alive can never have heard of it. My mistake was I thought I'd seen it, but it turns out I hadn't; I've been confusing Grease with Dirty Dancing, conflating Olivia Neutron Bomb with both wassisface and Patrick Swayzee. I'm still not sure what "nobody puts baby in a corner" means, even though I've watched the clip { http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypKSbnYOrwE } I guess you've got to watch the entire film to get the context. I'm also assuming that the song "Time of your life" is in the film.
Live and learn.
