It's Wigan. They could've played like Brazil and they'd still be a bunch of wankers.
I can't bring myself to appreciate them, the lucky spawny cup winning nice people that they are.

Well done Wigan.

Re: Tonight's Football
My BiL (a City fan) is, at this very moment, in a minibus full of Wigan fans on his way back from the Cup Final. They are, to a man, the most merciless bunch of pisstakers I have ever met. He should be in for a long and arduous journey. For this reason, whilst I can empathise with the sentiment that I wish it was us, its raised a slight smile from me that loadsamoney City couldn't even win such a gimme game.

Re: Tonight's Football
Congrats Wigan. Gives one hope it could be us again one day.
Re: Tonight's Football
Mind you, probably going down this season.
Re: Tonight's Football
They are though! Dave Whelan? Wanker. Bob 'I'm a good football manager - am I fck' Martinez? Wanker. Each and every one of their fans who live for beating us? Wankers! Spose it depends which 'side' of glorious Bolton you're from. See I've never met a Bury fan, so as much as they're fans hate us, they don't work me up that much, coz I've never met one. Chorley-side there are Wigan fans everywhere, and they're all cnuts!Bruce Rioja wrote:As sage a point as ever, there.Prufrock wrote: Wigan are wankers
I do agree McManaman was top though.
I thought I was bigger than all this until they scored, and then I realised I didn't want that set of wankers to win. The wanking wankers.

Re: Tonight's Football
I've been surprised by some reaction of fellow Bolton fans to their win. They were pretty immense and deserved their victory, much rather prefer them to win it than City. I ain't the biggest fan of their club and Chairman but credit where its due. And whatever you say about Whelan that is some story.

that's where I'd be if I cared enough... nobody other than a citeh fan could seriously get excited about a team assembled with mega-bucks transfer fees and unrestricted wages beating a shoestring outfit - could they??Dr.Karl wrote:I've been surprised by some reaction of fellow Bolton fans to their win. I'd be willing to give it a long term trial at the Bok, just to check....thebish wrote:that's where I'd be if I cared enough... nobody other than a citeh fan could seriously get excited about a team assembled with mega-bucks transfer fees and unrestricted wages beating a shoestring outfit - could they??Dr.Karl wrote:I've been surprised by some reaction of fellow Bolton fans to their win. Re: Tonight's Football
It would of course be hilarious if they now became the first team to win the FA Cup and then be relegated in the same season.
Of course Martinez's stock would remain high (if he's that good why are Wigan bumbling along at the bottom of the table every season, having spent more money for example than Allardyce spent here?) and he'd likely depart along with some of their better players.
For one time only.....c'mon Arsenal.

Re: Tonight's Football
20 years ago last month, I remember laughing at Wigan as Tony Kelly tip toed through their entire defence to score the opener in a 2-0 win. 3 sides of a crumbling Springfield Park were occupied by Wanderers fans.
If you'd said to me then, that yesterday they would be winning a cup final whilst in a higher division than us, I'd have had you sectioned. Its a remarkable achievement. I just wish it had been done by someone else (apart from Tranmere obviously)

We're all folk who spend our free time, on the internet, talking about our football team, and some reckon it's sad/surprising that quite a lot of us, you know, like football. 'I only like Bolton, me.' Great. Bully for you. Some of us, in particular, curator of this thread AG, like watching football even when our team aren't playing

You've got over four thousand posts on a website dedicated to a football team. You're a fanboy too!

Some of the football Watford are playing is just......
However I still think they are a little naive in some areas.
Tight game.
